He talked about how the Bears OL ended the year ranked 14th and the Giants ended 30th. Talked about how Mooney and Claypool are better than any WR they have and would both start for the Giants who also dealt with a ton of injuries at WR and talked about how Kmet would be their starting TE and all of this is true.
And you don't think Fields' rushing yards had a lot to do with that? You're damning him for a stat he enhanced.

PFF, which is where you got that stat, had the Bear last in pass protection. Plays that were not runs, screens or play action. Worst protection in drop backs and gun. Anybody that says the OL wasn't horrendous in pass blocking is talking out their ass.

I mean, yeah I get that. But what you say only applies to moves actually made. You can't fire a GM because of who he could've drafted. That's like firing every GM because they didn't pick Brock Purdy. Pace didn't get fired because he didn't pick Mahomes. He got fired because he did pick Mitch. Nobody's losing their job over hypotheticals, especially hypotheticals that are huge risks like getting rid of well like QB for an unproven QB.
No he didn't. He got fired because he couldn't fix it or field a consistently good team. 1/2 the 1st round QBs fail and you don't fire a GM over a 3rd and couple 4ths.

consider me as one with a fan crush on Mauch and Wright.

Though I will want to see their shuttle runs at the combine
Mauch is going to be plenty fast. He’s a good athlete. Unfortunately, Wright and Dawand Jones are slow in the feet and better for a power O, like Baltimore.

Tannebaum on Espn just used the following stat to say the Bears should trade Fields.

He has the most combined sacks, fumbles, and INTs at 140.

Ok bruh, they need to stop giving him air time.

I was simply repeating what C.Cowherd said on his show. He did make a ton of sense and even if the numbers are somewhat skewed, which all of PFF's numbers are, it still doesn't take away that both the Giants and Bears OL's were not good and that the Bears still had better weapons at WR and TE, but not RB even though our RB situation wasn't bad. I know our OL was bad and don't have to use PFF to tell me that. I actually don't use PFF for anything because i'd rather go by the eye test.

Then why even humor or defend in any way what he said?

And nope. Giants 24th and Bears 32nd.

Before we got Claypool but...

I gotta disagree with you on Wright having slow feet. Just because he’s a very big man, doesn’t mean he has slow feet.

  • Has the feet to adjust when Wright anticipates what's coming. Effective trapping and bends at the knees with adequate core strength to absorb the bull rush. Can clear a path at the second level if he hits the target.
  • In the run game, he shows good burst off the line of scrimmage, with the ability to win at the point of attack. Wright has enough speed and athleticism to move to the second level and land blocks

also, playing in the highest tempo offense in the country, you know his conditioning is great too

my biggest concern with Wright is his hand size, but the guy is an absolute stud of a pass blocking RT
