No he didn't. He got fired because he couldn't fix it or field a consistently good team. 1/2 the 1st round QBs fail and you don't fire a GM over a 3rd and couple 4ths.
Couldn't fix what? QB? Yeah, and he needed to fix QB because he picked a bad one and then compiled it by trading valuable assets and money for Foles, to try to cover that he picked a bad one.

IDK what the hell you're talking about with 3rd and 4ths.

I was simply repeating what C.Cowherd said on his show. He did make a ton of sense and even if the numbers are somewhat skewed, which all of PFF's numbers are, it still doesn't take away that both the Giants and Bears OL's were not good and that the Bears still had better weapons at WR and TE, but not RB even though our RB situation wasn't bad. I know our OL was bad and don't have to use PFF to tell me that. I actually don't use PFF for anything because i'd rather go by the eye test.
nevermind that fields and claypool didnt play alot together. so what WRs are you talking about/?

I gotta disagree with you on Wright having slow feet. Just because he’s a very big man, doesn’t mean he has slow feet.

  • Has the feet to adjust when Wright anticipates what's coming. Effective trapping and bends at the knees with adequate core strength to absorb the bull rush. Can clear a path at the second level if he hits the target.
  • In the run game, he shows good burst off the line of scrimmage, with the ability to win at the point of attack. Wright has enough speed and athleticism to move to the second level and land blocks

also, playing in the highest tempo offense in the country, you know his conditioning is great too

my biggest concern with Wright is his hand size, but the guy is an absolute stud of a pass blocking RT
Bro, I really hope you're right and I'm wrong.

Yeah, his feet are amazing. He's not what anyone would confuse with a super athlete at OT (think Trent Williams), but his feet are very quick. He's like Tom Brady/Dan Marino were at the QB position. They weren't going to escape the pocket and take off to avoid pressure, but they had the subtle movements to buy the time they needed to get the job done. That's what Wright does. He has the feet to mirror and anticipate pass rush moves.

He or Anton Harrison would protect Fields' eyes very well.

Add to that, say, John Michael Schmitz and Cody Mauch, and all of a sudden the right side of the line becomes a wall.

Interesting discussion today on ESPN regarding if the Bears should trade Fields.

Herm Edwards - Bears should build around Fields
Bart Scott - Bears should trade Fields as he is already banged up and should restart the clock
Stephen A Smith - Bears should not draft another QB as no QB wants to go to the Bears.

id drool if the bears drafted those 3 guys.

that said, poles will have to sign a FA lineman or two just because he can’t count on having those guys all on the board when he’s picking.

legit, if they get 1 of those 3 in the draft I’ll be happy, 2 I’d scream, and all 3 I’d cream lol

Tannebaum on Espn just used the following stat to say the Bears should trade Fields.

He has the most combined sacks, fumbles, and INTs at 140.

Ok bruh, they need to stop giving him air time.

How many games of the Giants and Bears did you watch on the All 22?

Pretty simple. Because i agree with pretty much everything he said.

Well then you werent just repeating what he said like you claim. You were advocating for what he said because you agree with him.

LOL. They fired him in 2022 because of a draft pick in 2017. Got it.

He was only awesome running the ball. He even says Fields is dynamic running the ball, shit the whole world knows he's dynamic running the ball, but there's huge question marks still with his passing game and decision making. He even says he's still 60-40 in favor of Fields will be just fine. We aren't doing the kind of winning we want with a QB that is great at running the ball but not so great passing it or doesn't make good decisions in the passing game. Dak Prescott makes bad decisions in the passing game.
JF has ice in his veins Dak has something else in his that causes him to choke unlike JF.

This is a good point. If Poles adds a bunch of pieces around Justin and he's not good enough, it isn't on Poles. It would be Pace's pick and he could show he put forth the effort to try to make Fields work. That buys him another few years with his handpicked QB.

And I know they won't have the #1 pick again (most likely), but they can conceivably have two #1s next year to move up, and if Fields is bad that's likely a top 10 pick w/ additional potential that the team that trades up is top 10 bad as well.
You're right and I think poles has no worries on passing on a QB this year, George is totally on board and knows what Poles is thinking because they've talked about it.

I mean, yeah I get that. But what you say only applies to moves actually made. You can't fire a GM because of who he could've drafted. That's like firing every GM because they didn't pick Brock Purdy. Pace didn't get fired because he didn't pick Mahomes. He got fired because he did pick Mitch. Nobody's losing their job over hypotheticals, especially hypotheticals that are huge risks like getting rid of well like QB for an unproven QB.
You're making good points here.
