If I were the Commanders I’d think about making a run. Would be their best chance at a franchise QB. They may have to rescind the tag on Payne to afford it but if I were them I’d rather have a real QB.
50 mil a year is about to become the going rate for elite QB's. I think the length of the contract is more an issue than the per year $$.

This is a good call. Obviously, not a Commanders fan, but they've dropped the ball on QB. They had all this defensive talent. Got a decent OL and now WRs. I think they really missed by not doing the same trade the Bears did for Fields (I believe they had the 19th or 21st pick, granted the move was made with the Giants, but besides the point). Then they go and spend money and picks on Wentz?

If I was a Commanders fan, I'd be livid if they aren't talking to the Ravens and the Bears (for #1).

Owner won’t be around for long either he can structure the contract in a way that all the money dumps on next owner.

This is the first domino to fall in my wild ass #calledit
If another team does end up getting Lamar, and the Ravens then trade with the Bears for Fields, it will be the #calledit of the millenia

True, but he has a chip on his shoulders when it comes to the Ravens, he might be a little more apt to negotiate with another team, who knows, It only takes one.
But the Ravens can still match any offer. Let the league set Jackson's worth.

yes, yes they can. But they have to cut a lot of corners to match any offer North of 40 mil, that is why they used the non-exclusive tag. The question is, if some team gives him what he wants, or close, then what do they do?
