If the Bears don't sign every free agent by 1230 today this place will be worse than the run on the banks going on right now.
I want McGlinchey, Okereke, Dre'mont Jones, Jamel Dean and Pocic

Anything less and I'm protesting in front of Fluss and Poles houses.

Here are the blue players from the Jahns’ article ( he removed QBs and WRs):

The ‘blue’ players

Will Anderson, DE, Alabama
Jalen Carter, DT, Georgia
Tyree Wilson, DE, Texas Tech
Peter Skoronski, OL, Northwestern
Christian Gonzalez, CB, Oregon
Paris Johnson Jr., OT, Ohio State
Lukas Van Ness, DL, Iowa

Here are the red players:

Five ‘red’ players

Broderick Jones, OT, Georgia
Bijan Robinson, RB, Texas
Devon Witherspoon, CB, Illinois
Bryan Bresee, DT, Clemson
Nolan Smith, Edge/LB, Georgia
Has Van Ness as a blue player? I like Van Ness but he's still a little raw.

I got a feeling Poles will be targeting RB in the draft. More than any position you can get a really good prospect relative to draft position.

As far as performance goes last year, Jones was the second best behind Jenkins but played every single snap, so in a way, he's the one you have to worry about the least. The position to address on the line are, pretty much in order, C, RT then LG. Edit to add: I'm all for Poles looking for another Braxton Jones in the later round and adding the guy in groom as a swing tackle, and if he eventually challenges a starter for a spot or makes a big money FA acquisition expendable in a year or two then great.

I mean - second best on that line is like the tallest midget. Jenkins was the only one on the whole line that looked the part.

Jones - he needed so much help and got pushed around a LOT. And because of that, I don't take any of the grading on him from 3rd party places seriously, because those places have proven to me they don't know what an actual successful block is in the NFL.

The one thing I give credit to Jones for though, is that even though he got straight dogged and bullied, he never broke form and rarely let the guy behind him. That second part doesn't matter when the guy can just push you into the QB, but the first part is hugely impressive and why he's worth investing in.

The thing is, you just can't assume he will make a jump. Case in point - Sam Mustipher has had a LOT of time in NFL weight rooms and still gets tossed like a rag doll. You give a talent like Jones a couple seasons to see if he can develop that anchor he needs, but you don't COUNT on it.

I’ve got a lot of investment money tied up in Blockbuster Video, Howard Johnson Restaurants, Radio Shack, and the USFL. I’m going to have a killer day!!

Again, all this because he's a 5th round pick. If he were a second or first, no one would be clamoring for him to be replaced. They'd say things like "well he showed a lot of promise and has some things to clean up" but people wouldn't be questioning his spot. He was a great run blocker, needs to improve exactly where everyone was saying he would as a prospect. No surprise. He performed better than anyone ever thought he would last year, being compared to Trent Williams at one point. If you're a competent GM, you simply do not go looking to replace young, athletic guys who show a lot of promise when you're devoid of talent in so many other areas.

He’ll get this off season to do that and he can build on the his experience starting 17 NFL regular season games.

Competition is great, but he took his rookie lumps. I think he’s ready for a big jump.

What LT would you bring in? I don’t see one available in free agency.

Orlando Brown. Asked and answered.

Just understand though, I am not saying Brown is the long term solution. But he is an improvement over the current Braxton Jones, even with Brown's shortcomings, and can buy the Bears time to invest in developing Jones while still giving Justin the protection he needs on his blind side.

Frankly, I'd even rather them draft a LT. Paris Johnson is a name I like, or, for a better project, I would love to have them draft Dawand Jones, and try him at LT - I know he's always played RT, but the dude has a build like Jason Peters from what I saw - I think he could be a stud there.

And if you really think Braxton can develop that anchor, I would actually kick him inside and have him compete with Whitehair for his LG spot. If nothing else, you then make Braxton extremely versatile, which would be HUGE, for both him and the Bears.

You are both right, and also missing the point.

Do you know why he was a 5th round pick and not a first or second?

Because NFL scouts suspected he's have issues with his anchor. If he didn't have that issue, he WOULD HAVE BEEN a first or second rounder.

So you unwittingly answered your own argument.

I haven't heard poles say a single bad thing about braxton. It's all been praise and he's been pretty vocal about it.

Do not think they are looking LT just for that alone. Whatever poles does there I'll trust him.
