I'm suspect to the whole 'Jenkins to T' move just because they never even looked at him there last year....while our RT situation was putrid.

Say you what you will about the lack of depth inside, but I just don't buy this regime viewing Jenkins as a T.
I tend to agree with this. But it is an option. He likely starts at one of the OG spots though

A lot of smokescreens going IMO. Same with this 'Whitehair to C' talk. Again...they never looked at him there last year...and well....

I think teams know the Bears will grab a C in the draft at 64 or earlier. Poles is doing a nice job trying to hide that, though...especially without signing a C in FA.
Probably right but if Whitehair could learn to spiral the gun I'd prefer him back at C. If he can't, nah. I'd love for him to spend this winter looking between his legs.

I’d be surprised if he’s at RG though. That’s just a follow the money thing. You don’t spend 30 mil on a career RG just to move him.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he stayed at RG. Davis said he’ll play wherever the coaching staff wants him to play. Don’t see any reason he couldn’t play LG. I don’t think anyone is pegged at any one position right now. They’ll let that all play out in camp

I think they want Gordon at nickel so they'd probably only be interested in an outside corner.
It’s not so much the they want Gordon at nickel, and I’ve said this before and caught flack, but Eberflus wants a boundary corner that can play slot. He wants to bring his boundary in to play slot and put another boundary on the outside when they play nickel, especially on third.

So, I see them drafting a long corner to play the boundary when Gordon comes in.

So what’s left worth looking at:

CB - Rock Ya-Sin - He’s 26, played for Flus, and has decent size for a CB… Unfortunately, he doesn’t have a lot of production on the ball which this staff covets. The Bears need depth and his price might be reasonable now. He is tough and competitive.

G/C - Issac Seumalo - He has 60 NFL starts which includes 20 last season on the best line in football. He can play center too so he’d be a nice addition to this line considering he can line up at 3 spots. He’s 29, so he should have plenty of good football left. How much better is the line if the first three up at guard are Jenkins, Davis and Seumalo? Obviously, Cunningham knows everything about him, but I’m surprised he hasn’t been signed by someone at this point.

Edge - Leonard Floyd - He’s long, athletic, can set the edge, and had 9 sacks last year. Give him a reasonable two year deal. He would not be added as the answer but as an upgrade to what they currently have and depth. He had 9.5 sacks in 2021 and two more in the playoffs. He’s by far better than anyone on the current roster on the edge.
I also wonder what's going on with Seumalo, thought he would go quick for big $$'s.

Follow the money.
Sure, but the Bears needed interior help and Jenkins is on a rookie deal. Davis a good player. Don’t see how signing him for 30 million prevents them from starting him at LG. Again, they’ll play the best combination wherever they fall. I highly doubt they already have him penciled in at RG. Obtain good players and then play them wherever makes the most football sense, not fiscal sense

To add to that, and for what it’s worth, Jenkins PFF grade was 80 at RG last season, compared to 70 for Davis. It would actually be a bit odd to move Jenkins to LG considering he was the better RG and LG is generally regarded as the easier position to play.

Count me as one of the people who’ll never understand why a guy playing RG can’t play LG, and vice versa.
