Nolan seems like a guy that just quietly stacks numbers in the NFL. I wouldn’t hate it if he ends up a Bear, although I wouldn’t expect it at #9
I already brought up the Bears surprising and taking N.Smith on CCS and they told me he doesn't fit.

That pick would make zero sense to me. LB is the one area they invested in heavily in the offseason. Smith is undersized so he won’t be on the line at DE.

Seems like a great guy and a solid player with ridiculous athletic traits, I just don’t see how he’d fit in this D.
I'm guessing like H.Reddick does in Philly and M.Parsons does in Dallas.

This is the question I had. DL makes sense for them, and they're in a position where they will probably target needs heavily.
I don't understand why the question is "why would they trade up for a G?" when the rumors are they want to trade up for a pass rusher.

Watch this. Good breakdown. He’s not going to be used like Edwards or Edmunds.
Good breakdown. I’ve seen all of his snaps. Super athletic and fast, can be used as a chess piece on the D. Reminds me a bit of a less lanky Floyd, in that he is not a premier pass rusher. That’s not his game. His speed is insane, but that won’t work as much on Sundays as it did on Saturday. I just don’t see him the same as Pagano does. But he’s the expert, not me. He’ll get stymied by pro OTs a shit ton. His game is special in that he can line up almost anywhere due to his speed. Those expecting that sack artist who constantly pressures the QB will be disappointed, imo.

Again, I’m not an expert, but wasn’t the freak athlete LB the role Edmunds was brought in to play?

But who knows? I’d actually rather take Van Ness after a trade down over Smith.

He would play DE not LB. If he is running 4.39 at 238 pounds, you have him put on 17-22 pounds to get to 255-260. Probably still have 4.5 speed at that size. Probably use him as a pass rush specialist until he settles at new weight as bith Walker and Greene can move inside on passing downs.

I understand that would be the plan since they invested heavily in off ball LBs.

My overall point is I don’t think he would thrive there. He is not a pass rush specialist. That is not how he was used. Similar to L. Floyd. Can he develop and become one like Reddick in a few years? Sure, I guess. But that hasn’t been his strength to date.

Well yeah it is a projection as he only had 11.5 sacks in 4 years but you take him that high if you think he has untapped pash rush potential.

I think he’s a really good prospect, but don’t think he adds 17-22 lbs on his frame. Maybe he gets up to 250-253

I get it. For me, his potential lies in other facets of a D.

If I’m taking a DE due to traits and pass rush potential (esp as a 4-3 DE), I’m drafting Van Ness.

I think Poles is too cautious to draft a player with an injury history like Wilson.

I was watching football night in Chicago and one of the chicks mentioned that he failed some NFL teams physicals.
Always been my issue. The injury
