You managed to have hyperbole, a straw man and irrelevant points all in one post! Congrats, not even the worst posters on here have managed to do that!

Rex sucks and he’s not worshipped on here by the majority or even a decent minority of the board. There might one or 2 posters that have a hard-on for him but the Bears lost the SB because of him(like Goff did for LAR) and made the SB in spite of him. He just threw a good deep ball.

Having better all-time stats than Bears QB’s means literally nothing given the Bears ineptitude at the position. No one acts likes he’s Craig Krenzel, he’s just someone who will let you down on the biggest stage, which he has proven to do. When your opponent is bragging on the sideline that you are due to throw a pick in the SB and then do just that(yes that really happened), you don’t make the moment. The moment makes you.

True he’s not “awful” he’s just not a franchise QB and is behind the 8-ball on being that guy to win his team a SB. But hey Dilfer won one, so maybe Goff can too! Amirite?

Holy **** dude.

Take a nap.

If they trade down and get extra firsts then they certainly could. Mooney and Claypool unlikely to sign this offeason given their injuries and lack of big numbers. You can trade for and lock up Higgins long term this offseason and then sign one of Mooney and Claypool in 2024 depending on who delivers in 2023.
Sure, they COULD do anything. Doesn’t mean it’s a good idea.

Trading a (high) 2nd round pick for a WR this year and then months later trading a 1st or 2nd for another WR sounds like bad business move. Especially since neither WR is a bonefide WR1 stud.

But I guess that sounds good to you lol

The sunk cost fallacy is a logical fallacy that entails sticking with a losing or failed venture because you’ve already invested a significant amount of time, money, or other resources that you can’t get back. It hinges on the idea that because you’ve already incurred costs, you need to stick with the endeavor in order to “get your money’s worth.”

What we traded for Claypool is irrelevant. It is a sunk cost that cannot be recovered. The only thing that is relevant is whether Poles feels he sufficiently address the issue. If the answer is no then you continue to try and address the issue. This is especially true when Mooney is injured and there is no guarantee he is an answer at WR. Higgins is better than both and is a No 1 as the Bengals have 2 No 1 WRs.

Are you trying to tell me that Jesus couldn’t take a hit and hold onto the ball? Let me guess, you probably don’t believe that he can hit a curveball too!
I was just saying he drops the ball like he has holes in his hands.

If he played baseball you know he would be a closing pitcher with all those Saves.

9ers are probably SB favorites with Fields/that OL/ McCaffery/Deebo/Aiyuk and that D. They’re kicking themselves for sur

Fields has to be kicking himself a bit too?
That was funny but in all seriousness I think Fields has really embraced the idea of leading a team all the way from rebuilding to a championship.

Interesting that they are trying to make him a regular WR based on the routes he mentions in these tweets.

What is it with coaching staffs and the Bears still not at least just playing to a players strengths from the get go and then develop the rest as they move forward.

The fumbles are killer though, if you can't secure the football in the NFL your future will be short lived.

Go routes are something that should be a normal for him with his speed. And he has to run something besides goes and screens, doing an in cutting route isn't some complicated move. I'm not sure what makes you think they are trying to force him into more than he's capable of. His route tree was super basic Sunday. He's just a complete idiot and doesn't understand basic fundamentals of pretty much any route.

Doesn't look like an in cut WR to me, not this early in his career given what he was in college, surely a slant or screens would be more suited alongside his supposed struggles with his Go routes would be the way to get him on the field.

Also, given he was able to run the routes in college he did, while also working as a returner, he must understand some fundamentals ... I enjoyed the hyperbole though.

He is deserving of criticism for sure though, just not as vitriolic as some on here post.

It isn't hyperbole though. Not understanding to clear space on a go route before giving up is simple. Cutting in is simple. In training camp he ran a wheel route and went out of bounds instead of rounding it off to go upfield in bounds (his coach screamed at him for it), in one of his first games I watched him run a crossing route where he basically sat down like a shadow behind an LB instead of altering his speed to get into a window or getting a little extra depth to create space.

His speed and ability with the ball in his hands is phenomenal (although he fumbles it which also negates this), but he makes it nearly impossible to get him to ball by not understanding very basic stuff when he's been playing football forever.

He also had some good days in training camp punctuated by injury (preseason aswell) He has struggled, but as a third round rookie, that's not a surprise given that people were vocal about him seeming more of a gimmick receiver rather than a bona fide one.

So as far as I'm concerned you're more than welcome to have your opinion of him but for people to be this OTT about him when the consensus at the time was he'd more than likely struggle, seems hyperbolic ...

Think he could be just doing one or two things and continue to hammer on that until the end of the season, imo.

If they move on from him, cool, horses for courses as with all draft picks.
