If Houston will take a year long deal then go for it. I'd prefer an older guy that can step out of the way if need be.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Even a 2 year deal wouldn't be bad. Gives a chance to draft a guy next offseason with a year to learn behind Houston

Both Houston and Ngakoue are pass rush specialists at this point. I'd rather go with the MUCH younger, Ngakoue who is a virtual lock for 8+ sacks, as he's had every year of his career. Houston has to be close to falling off the cliff at age 34, and a year removed from only 4.5 sacks in Baltimore.

Neither though prevents you from trading for Chase Young or Danielle Hunter if they become available by some chance. Worst case, 2 good pass rushing edges allow you to move Walker inside on pass downs where he put up almost all of his production last year.

I think they are focused on team building and how to be great and would much prefer Houston's influence on the team.

I do not know enough about Ngakoue but based on how much his position on who he will sign with has changed this off-season and how bad he is in the run game I don't think they'd be bringing him in for his mentorship and I don't see Pace spending for a rental in a season that is not going anywhere anyways.
