Got some bratwursts marinating in beer right now. Will post pics of them on the grill.

Johnsonville brats (the kind in the deli case at the grocery store, not in the meat section), marinated in beer and grilled.

Well, I was planning on firing up the grill tonight, but evidently Mother Nature has other plans according to the rumbling I just heard in the sky. Guess I'll be "firing up" (plugging in) my George Foreman grill instead.

Grilled some kielbasa the other night. Great stuff. Can never go wrong with some Polish sausage. :)

Kielbasa is indeed awesome on the grill. Of the store-bought brands, I like Slotkowski the best.

If I have to do it on my Foreman grill, I cut it up into medallion-sized pieces. It cooks faster that way.

Grilled some Italian sausages. If you live in the south/southwest suburbs, I highly recommend the butcher shop in the nearest Walt's Foods.

How did you make them?

Haven't started cooking them yet. Just put the rub on. Found some suggestions on country-style ribs on the internet. One was to use your favorite pork rub, so I'm using a cinnamon and thyme-based rub I found several years ago in a indoor grilling cookbook.

Bout to get my grill on here. Got some brats from Hy Vee's butcher (beer brats and Jalapeno cheddar), got some split chicken breasts (rubbed with Oakridge game bird and chicken rub) and gonna grill some foil packet potatoes. I'll try to snap a pic or two and add them later.

I wish Hy-Vee was closer to me than LaSalle-Peru :( . Used to go to the ones in Iowa all the time when visiting relatives. Also would go to the one in Coralville for breakfast before Hawkeye football games.

Yeah, Hy Vee has some nice features. Plus they have big sales basically every weekend.

Here's my work for the night.

Just on the grill. I did them with indirect heat, using the upper rack.

15 minutes later, when I went to check on them. Looked good and smelled even better.

Another 15 minutes after the above picture, they were ready for the Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce.

With the combination of the spice rub and the sauce, they tasted awesome.

Nice.

Every once in a while, I will go online and look at Hy-Vee's ads. I've heard nothing but good things about their meat department from my Iowa relatives.
