Why do you let him get to you so much?

Because the other people on this site are stupid enough to believe all the bullshit counterpoints he reaches for in responding to me. Not responding to him, in this setting, would probably be just as bad as him being right (which he isn't).

No, this is what Senser does. He picks one person with which to arbitrarily feud, then concisely (his words, though is a concise end begotten from arbitrary means not an arbitrary action?) takes the complete opposite side of whatever that person says on the forum, no matter how much stretching or how many straw men are needed to continue on. Case in point, when 643 Sports starting writing stuff for Bleacher Report, we would occasionally post some of our articles on VSN. One baseball article was posted by FedEx (though it was written by me on BR), and a lot of the people in the thread created looked favorably on the article, including Senser, posting things like "good job", "good read", etc. Then, when I posted in the thread making it known that I was the one that wrote it, Senser immediately returned to the thread with things like "the article sucks, you're fucking stupid" and so on (not an exact quote, I'm paraphrasing from memory), a complete reversal in what he had said previously, all because he learned that I was the one that wrote the piece.

This is what Rush, in his infinite genius, wanted: Senser to come here to keep me under control by doing what he believes is the exact same thing I do. Which, as anyone with half a brain will tell you, is decidedly not the case. I tell people they're being stupid because they are, I can point to specific posts and points made with specific contradictory notions based in fact. Senser, on the other hand, twists and bends the truth (as well as the arguments of others) in whatever way he can to achieve his ends. Ultimately, he is just an unintelligent, pitiful attempt at what I am (rather intelligent and not-so-pitiful).

I get it for sure, but my only question is this...why do you have to call names (I know there are stupid comments) but why call the names....you sound much better tearing someone up with knowledge and facts and leaving it at that. but on the other hand i understand that you probably get sooo aggrivated that you just have no choice but to vent. that is why the rolleyes smiley is the best, it basically does all the name calling and how you feel in one click.

your posts contain substance whether you are wrong on a topic or right, atleast you take the time to write out your side.

i dont know rory aka senser and what his intentions are, but if it gets to you just ignore him.

Yeah, I listen to B & B now instead of the Afternoon Saloon. And I guess from my end its not like I HATE their show, its just that I think they could do some things better, and they've somehow been on the air in one capacity or another for many years yet they refuse to change.
I see the point. And I agree. At times they run their show as more of a "club" than a radio show. Lots of inside jokes and such. You really have to listen to the show on a consistant basis for a while to really get into it IMO.

I think Bernstein would be more tolerable if he had someone other than Boers with him. No one calls Bernstein out on his BS...Boers always agrees with him. For example, Bernstein was berating a caller for using "hypotheticals" and not basing his opinion on fact, then in the next segment Bernstein is claiming that perhaps the Bears aren't bad because they could be 7-1! Boers should have stepped in and at least offered a counter-point.
Excellent point. However I disagree a bit because I know Matty and Goff have gone back and forth with Bernstein before..to the point of Matty getting pissed off. I guess to meet you half way or so on your point I agree it would be nice to have more counterpoints to Bernstein coming from the co-host rather than the producer who really shouldn't be or can't stay in the discussions for a very long time..if at all.

I feel similar. I'm not really looking for deep, deep sports discussion. I liked the old Afternoon Saloon just because it was entertaining, IMO. Not really a heavy-hitting sports show. I do like when B & B have sports guests because they are good interviewers, and I really like when they have Hub Arkush on the show.
B and B when they have Hub Arkush or Steve Stone is very good radio. Ironically enough they are such good interviewers that people refuse to come on a lot because they don't lob softball questions at them.

Ummmm....really?

I will list my thoughts on each numbered point...

5) Agreed. Errors don't really happen all that frequently to begin with, and the scoring of errors is extremely subjective. They might be able to tell you who is really bad at fielding, but it doesn't really differentiate the fielders. I liken it to judging CBs by their INT total.

4) Somewhat disagree. Batting average is a nice, straight-forward statistic. You take from it what you will.

3) Somewhat disagree. Its all about production, and RBI is a good indicator of production. Its like an offensive player's TD total...sure, its somewhat dependent on their offensive teammates, but show me someone with a high TD total and I'll show you a pro bowl player (or Vince Young).

2) Agree, except in the case of Lefty34.

1) Agree completely. Bert Blyleven not being in the HOF is a great example of wins being overrated.

For whatever reason I just assumed that Rush had written the article. Now that I am looking at it again, I see that you are actually the author. Since that is the case, I am modifying my response...

5) Strongly disagree
4) Strongly disagree
3) Strongly disagree
2) Vehemently disagree
1) Strongly disagree

Isn't that, like, exactly as I said it went down?

Great conspiracy theory. Although Rush and I both have a lot of free time, I think we are both too lazy to have colluded to such a cockamamie scheme, where Rush asks me to come to ChiCitySports "to keep you under control". You make it seem like a person needs to plot out a military campaign to "challenge your intellect". Trust me, its not that difficult. I read your posts, see that its based on something COMPLETELY whack, such as Derrick Rose's "Career averages" or something like that, and then I type something and click the "post reply" button.

Well Rush has told me as much on multiple occasions, so....:dunno:

And no, it doesn't need to be some kind of conspiracy, Rush just knew that were he to invite you, and if you knew I was posting here, you would bring your Jackass and the Straw Men troupe with you. Real simple, not necessarily a conspiracy, at least not on your part.

WTH? Lefty's banned? Probably just his personal text right?

lol @ VSN. First time I saw it ever and it makes me so glad I'm at CCS instead. Saw PSD for the first time the other day, that'd better than VSN, but still sucks.

Honestly..I've never been to a city that has good sports talk or regular talk radio.
Well, let's face it....the majority of people who get angry enough to call into a sports talk show, by and large, are stupid people. And I'm not convinced that it really takes any talent (aside from our 643 guys - that is a whole bunch of talent....diamonds in the rough, if you will....) to discuss sports.

So yeah, it is never going to be good unless you are somebody that enjoys listening to the mindless ramblings of a politick that in the end probably don't know shit.

Local sports radio shows are on in the same as really rooting for a college team - which I don't do. It's tribalism on a scale that is scary for the 21st Century.
