In all fairness they are a 6% chance to win it. What we can hope for is a strong ending which gives Jed the collateral to buy this offseason.

87 wins is my expected. But that should push the needle to get a legit ace and a closer. They have 6 top 100 hitters at Iowa. That should keep the engine chugging

Also, let’s not forget…the cubs have beaten up on the pirates, marlins, tigers, and white sox lately

When they played the guardians, a decent to above average team, they got swept

Let’s pump the brakes just a tad
Didn’t they sweep the Orioles tho?

Cub are running the same pattern as each year, again. Start the season hot, cool down for whatever reasons, starting to get hot, and eventually running out of time, or running in to good pitching. It's a cycle that repeat itself every year. Hopefully they do something different this time..
What other recent season matched that pattern?

3 back of Atlanta who is hurt and sketchy in all areas. 2 back of the Mets. Mets-Braves play each other with Philly mixed in.

the Cubs have 3 with the Yankees, 3 with the Dodgers, and 3 with the Phillies. Lets make it fun

Not sure what those numbers are about

But yes. I stand by what I said. They are beating up on bad teams right now.
For guys who talk gibberish like Bernstein these numbers were simple. And you literally used the example of teams like the Guardians beating up on the Cubs. But it was all just in fun.

Cubs win 3
Guardians win 0
Cubs score 26
Guardians score 10

I stand behind 87 wins. It should not be enough to override the shit show that happened for 1/3 of the season

Add in 9 games vs play off teams to go

I want a hell of a end just to force Tom to spend on a championship caliber team for 2025.

I am not following this TBH. NYY, LAD and PHI are pending. If the Cubs can win 3 of those games it would be better than expected

I don't care.

So pre Swift candle 0-3. 10 runs for. 18 runs against.

Post Swift candle 3-0 Cubs score 30 and Guardians score 10?

I am just not seeing the reasoning. I might be missing something....

In the land of reality they lost all 3. Is that the same unit? Yes and no. Same people but that are in sync ATM and back then they were not

I can jump to the nay say side and state that they are pimp slapping hoes ATM. Well that in itself is something. They are winning when they should and have momentum.

They have 3 more games to increase it going into New York. Let's see how it plays out. Momentum is a real thing in baseball.

Ooops...Now I understand all the comments. I meant the Nationals and wrote the Guardians.

Fire away.
