Yup. And after awhile, going to the gym will basically become a habit. Something you don't even think about doing. I'd recommend trying to go at the same time every day if possible so it just sort of becomes part of your process. Wake up, brush teeth, eat breakfast, pack gym bag, go to work, go to gym, come home, then whatever. Or however your day is structured. I found that really helped me in the beginning. Now I don't even think about it. If you leave it open ended it's a lot easier to say "I'll go later this afternoon" and then something comes up and "this afternoon" becomes tomorrow, which eventually becomes next week and ends up w/ the habit being broken. That's how it is for me anyways.

That's spot on. That was basically my ritual when i was into the whole bodybuilding thing years ago. Wake up, eat, wash and brush what you need to and hit the gym. Having a protocol is the way to go. Unfortunately for me these days my work schedule is so random that i have to schedule my workouts around that. Plus staying up late to watch west coast NBA games and this dog bugging me, messes everything up.

Haha yup I know that for sure!! Lol
Only thing that sucks is I have a fast metabolism(obviously good because I dont get fat but harder to gain muscle) and I swear after I eat not too much longer after that I'm already going to the bathroom lol. Once I go to the store sometime I'm hoping I can buy some chicken breasts and some stuff like that.

Havent worked out in a few days due to scheduling complications, among other things. Hurt my back yesterday walking(shit happens) but im headed to the gym in a few and will absolutely kill a shoulder workout. Probably gonna switch up the routine, try the TUT workout, add some cardio into the mix.

Need a way to cut junk food out.

I try and go to the sandwich place since it has atleast tuna and chicken breast

you could buy tuna and some wheat crackers (that's what I'm doing at work now)...or if you go to wendys, they'll give you a cup of grilled chicken pieces (a grilled chkn sammich that they throw the bread off of and cut up) if you ask for it. I like getting that or chkn nuggets w/ a side salad...it's a good size salad for $2...

so im staring P90X, and it seems that each vid really works and isolates the that specific area. if anyone else has tried P90X, do you rest(take a day off) or do you just go to next workout the next day?

I would imagine there are rest days in there, if not, that's simply fucking Special person and a recipe for disaster. Recovery is critical. But to your question, I'm not sure when the rest periods are since I've never done it. If I had to guess it would be alternating days of emphases on strength vs. cardio related activity w/ a day or two off per week. That's how I would construct it, no idea what they did.

You need to load for the first week or so (take twice as much). Take a scoop when you wake up and another post workout. Make sure you go through the loading phase, it's important.

After you're done loading (maintenance), take a scoop post workout on days you work out - although there are conflicting views on optimal timing around this. On rest days when you aren't working out, take it in the morning.

Ya, anything high protein is great. I eat a lot of almonds. String cheese. Tuna and crackers like someone else mentioned. All depends on your goals, percentages of macro nutrients (protein, fat, carbs) , what else you are eating and how crazy you want to get.
