My wife's mother gave her a bike (pretty nice Trek hybrid) and so we decided to get into biking a bit. We have a nice bike path along the Mississippi here in town that we will start on. I decided instead of getting some POS bike from Wal Mart I'd try to go the used route and get something better. Decided (after talking to the guy at a local bike shop) to get a mountain bike, mainly because they are generally stronger. I've gotten myself down a little weight, but I"m still 300 lbs so I need a strong bike. Got a used Giant Boulder SE with a bunch of new parts for under 200 bucks. After looking into some local mountain biking trails, I'm actually excited to try it. Looks like lots of fun. First thing's first, though. Gotta get back into the biking mode and drop some weight first.

Cliffs: Decided to get bike. Excited to start riding more and losing some weight. Considering getting into some mild mountain biking.

So hows everyone progress coming along? Havent posted here in a while.

Ive put on some weight since moving back to FL. Been stressing way too much with life. Gotta get back on my game. Thinking about getting a part time job with this youth fitness center. Ive always wanted to help with the childhood obesity problem.

Since running the marathon in September my knees have been a pain. Can't run more than a mile without discomfort. Trying to watch what I eat and ice, rest, and stretch so I can get running longer miles again. Still hovering around 185lbs though which isn't too bad.

College habits are terrible. Probably put on 10 lbs again. I'd go exercise more, but school work is taking up all my time. :sigh:

Flavored bottle water(calories/sugar free). Chain drink that shit.

Gum.

Anyhting to keep you from eating.

Eating can sometimes be a habit we create when we are bored. Also, if others around you eat, you're more likely too.

Water water water man. Easy solution.

Nothing like a good bottle of sugarwater after a hard workout. Were they out of Dr. Pepper?

I am really into fitness I can help you out. I am not a personal trainer but I have helped friends get into shape and have helped as a strength coach for some youth hockey teams. Start with your diet, eat 5-6 smaller meals throughout the day to keep your metabolism high.

Meal 1: Egg whites and plain oatmeal (low sugar stuff like Mccann's Irish Oatmeal).
Meal 2: Chicken Breast (baked or pan seared with light oil). Green Beans or brown rice.
Meal 3: Protein Shake (Pre-Workout, I love Pro Complex brand)
Meal 4: Protein Shake (Post Workout, Use Skim Milk)
Meal 5: Fish, lean steak, or more chicken.
Meal 6: Cottage Cheese, Skim Milk. (These have casein protein that will help your body recover and rebuild overnight).

Hit the weights, you do not have to train with heavy weight but strain your muscles. Cardio only burns calories during the exorcise, but weight training will raise your metabolism and put your body in a state of burning fat all day. Also caffeine is your friend (either caffeine pills or black coffee), you would have a very limited carbohydrate intake so you will need caffeine to give you energy. Caffeine also raises your bodies metabolism. Try and hit the weights 3-4 times a week. Also take a multivitamin to make up for the lack of nutrition in the diet.

When it comes to your cardio don't worry about the time worry about the intensity. Look up High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), you can get the same cardio workout from 20 minuets than you could jogging for 2 hours.

It is best to work hard 5 days out of the week and rest completely for 2 days to let your body repair itself.

With this system I helped a friend lose 40 pounds in 2 months.

You may not even post here anymore, and I'm glad that you are enthusiastic about fitness...

With that said, pretty much all of what you posted is complete rubbish.

:nope:

Isn't it fun to go to the bathroom 20x a day right. I really started doing it as a way to get up and move around at work.
