Im hardly a Fehr fan but he did keep the players from caving......AGAIN....like they did last time. You saw what that got them. You now have management giving out contracts that they knew before hand that they wouldnt pay but Im also not interested in watching 20 goal scorers and minus defensemen that are millionaires. If you ask me, these asswipes deserve each other.

I know it'll never happen as NHL fans will flock back like lost little sheep for the first game back but I would love to see....just for one game, ONE fucking game....a gathering of say 8 or 9 hundred fans at the UC. Show these greedy pricks that we, as fans are NOT happy with this shit.

Patrick Kane
has been living with his mother in Switzerland, while playing for Biel in the National League A. The dynamic Chicago winger has built up an unsavory reputation off the ice, which has been publicly portrayed by his partying and his altercation with a Buffalo cabdriver in 2009. However, he has lived a controlled life overseas and spends most of his time after practice at home watching movies and TV shows on his laptop when he isn't working out. "We're not here on a vacation," said Kane's mother, Donna. "We're here for him to play hockey." Kane has done a good job in that regard with seven goals and eight assists in 14 games.

will probably head back to Switzerland if the lockout doesn't end soon. Kane already has his plane ticket. "It would be nice not to have to go back Sunday and just . stay here and get ready for a training camp," Kane said. "Right now, I'm scheduled to go back. It's something you don't want to do; you want (the lockout) to be over and done with. It's an experience I'll never forget, but life is much better here in the States and in Chicago." Kane has seven goals and 15 points in 14 games with the Swiss National League A's HC Biel.

Jamal Mayers
sees the NHLPA standing it's ground on the maximum contract lengths as the players protecting their middle class. The logic is that if superstars can't get the security that comes with a long-term contract, they'll instead demand more money per season. That would leave teams with less cap room to spend on other players. Meanwhile, the NHL has insisted that this is an issue they won't cave on. All the same, Mayers thinks that the two sides are close to an agreement. "It can't be understated how close we are," Mayers said. "For the NHL to think it was take it or leave it is unrealistic."

The NHL has filed a Class Action Complaint and an Unfair Labor Practice Charge against the NHLPA.

The complaint was filed in federal court while the Unfair Labor Practice Charge was filed with the National Labor Relations Board.

With the NHLPA taking it's first steps towards possibly dissolving, the NHL is seeking to both validate the legality of the lockout and argue that the union is engaging in an unlawful subversion of the collective bargaining process.

As discouraging as this all might sound if you simply want the lockout to be over, this doesn't mean that all hope is lost. In fact, the NBA took similar actions during its lockout when the NBPA began to dissolve. The two sides came to an agreement mere weeks later.

I don't see a season happening

yeah its getting to the point where if they started after the 14th it wouldnt really be fair as it would be a sample size for teams contending. hell you could see CBJ make the playoffs in a sample size but be a bottom team during the full length of a season.

I said it before, and I'll say it again. January 14th was my personal target for a last-chance. That would allow every team in the NHL to still play each other once, and every team in the conference to play each other twice before the post-season.

I'm not betting on a resolution. 2012-13 is as good as a scratch from the record books.

In 1994 I believe the NHL started their shortened season around January 20th (with the lockout ending about a week and a half before). That has to be the target for the NHL at this point. Go beyond that with cancellations and it is as good as gone.

Patrick Kane
Former Chicago star Jeremy Roenick believes that Patrick Kane is ready to dominate the NHL. Roenick stated in an ESPN interview that Kane was one of the NHL's most talented players and that he was is in excellent physical shape after playing in Switzerland. Roenick did say that Kane has to remember to watch what he does in public because with social media the way it is, eyes are everywhere. He went on to say that Kane as a representative of the Blackhawks will have to remember he is being watched. That said, Roenick stated that Kane's off ice problems have been merely growing pains and he fully expects the young Hawks' star to get through them.

netted two goals for Biel, but it wasn't enough in a 4-3 shootout loss to Kloten. The Chicago winger now has nine markers and 17 points in 15 Swiss League games. His lockout teammate and Boston forward Tyler Seguin had a helper in the match. Seguin leads the league with 24 goals and he is tied for third with 39 points in 27 contests.

Marian Hossa
said he'll "maybe look for other options" if the NHL lockout wipes out the 2012-13 campaign. Hossa has recently been medically cleared to return from a concussion, but of course he's not playing at the moment. It sounds like he might consider playing in Europe or the perhaps the ECHL if the season is lost.
