He knows more than you and obviously he can read  your a fucking idiot :yep:

Oh, he knows more than me. Okay. As long as you say so, then it must be true.

Where did I say the Cubs can put as much as they want in the draft? I said I don't believe Ricketts has the resources right now to improve the MLB club. I haven't seen Ricketts spend big bucks yet.
He made a great move in getting Epstein and co., and if those guys continue to develop players through the draft, like they have throughout their entire professional careers, the Cubs will be in great shape not only with W-L record, but financially as well.

Why do you have any reason to believe Ricketts doesn't have the resources to improve the MLB club? He has to improve the MLB club because we can't rely on developing players through the draft because there are new rules in place. We have to be efficient in the draft and also spend money on the big league team.

Don't take things so seriously. Nobody knows what the Cubs' plan is. Just chill, man.

I understand the Cubs have to spend money at the MLB level

I'm saying, I haven't seen Ricketts do it yet, and I'm not sure if he can.

I hope I'm wrong.

Ricketts said its Theo's call on all moves. You don't pay Theo huge money to save money. Sure, he will be measured at the time but they will spend at some point.

If Ricketts doesn't spend he wasted money on Theo and will be ostracized. It just doesn't make sense.

The initial plan was destroyed by the new CBA and now it's either go after a couple big players or wait for the bad contracts to come off the books before doing the same. Why wait?

Angels pursuing Pujols.. Wtf

That's a bit of a surprise. Possibly because Kendry(s) Morales is still on the mend, but not sure where they're getting the $$ from. Guess they took all the $ they would've offered to other free agents and pooled it.

This is the thing that I think has to be focused on. The Cubs plan was to spend like crazy in acquiring amateur talent to build up the farm system. The Cubs were going to spend that money. They can't anymore because of the new CBA. So that money will go somewhere. That doesn't mean that the Cubs are going to go out and sign Pujols, Fielder, and CJ Wilson (though it would be kind of fun if they did for at least a few years). But I do think if Theo wants sign a big ticket FA he can do it. We will see when the dust settles on Pujols, Fielder and Wilson because that should set the market for a lot of the things the Cubs are considering doing (getting free agents, trading established players and prospects, etc.)

For a G O A T like Pujols, teams will find money for him.

It looks like the Cubs did.

Depending how serious the Angels are, I don't see a resolution happening tonight...

I hope so or I wasted hours waiting for the news to break tonight.

Hell I guess those hours were wasted anyway.

47 minutes until arbitration deadline. Let's waste those together.

Kind of hoping we get Fielder for a bit less than Poo Joles signs for, and then a 3b and a LF and a C and 3 more pitchers :D
