Agreed...once D&D broke up it was less about being creative and more about being commercially appealing

I actually like the era when he was trying to be JJ Cale (Slowhand, Backless).

Clapton is overrated

Don't tell my dad that lol

I know this guy looks/is probably cracked out when he sings but man...his voice. It just moves me. One of my favorite songs of all time.

That video is from the Mad Dogs and Englishman tour. That is the first album I owned and what I beleive is top 10 of all time. I have seen Joe Cocker many times over the years and his shows are great. He has one of the great rock pianists (Chris Stainton) and his band is just so good. In the Mad Dog Tour Leon Russell was on piano and the band director. One think with a Cocker concert is all the background singers cooing

Wasn't born at the time but boy do I wish I was there... Jimmy Page was the guitarist on the recording as well. Cockers voice is complete magic, they murdered that song.

Meh, Stones did have some talent. Unfortunately most of their best material came under the influence of narcotics, see songs such as sister morphine etc. This band on the other hand was overshadowed by the Beatles, and very underrated:

Saw these guys several times in their prime. One of the few bands that you felt like you were sitting in your living room with your head phones on. Keep thinking they might make it into the R&R Hall one of these days.

Speaking of the Rock & Random hall of whoever; whatever happened to Grand Funk Railroad, or Nazareth, speaking of '60s bands that survived/thrived during the '70s?

This video demonstrates that neanderthal genes are alive and well, and "rap" has been around since the 70's (brits).
