If he files grievance against the NFL, it is possible that he could still enter the supplemental draft.

If he does enter, what round would you draft him? Remember, if you are granted him, you have to give up that round the next year. So if we took him round 1, we would lose next years 1st round pick. We wouldn't go that high obviously.

it is more fair for all teams if he is involved in a draft any draft.......its not fair someone could possibly get a free first round pick by signing him thats how I look at it

My guess is he will be cleared.

And then it will be 32 teams recruiting him like he is back in college.

My guess is he stays close to home and signs with the Saints.

To file a "grievance" against the NFL he has to be a member of the NFLPA and he is NOT!!!!!

Omy is correct. He will have to sue the NFL for the right to be in the supplemental draft or the 2016 draft.

The Dolphins are expected to pursue LSU T/G La'El Collins once -- if -- he's cleared of any involvement in the death of his ex-girlfriend.
The Dolphins won't be the only team hot on Collins' trail once he's cleared; we're sure much of the league will be interested in signing him. Collins was viewed as a mid-first-round pick before the bombshell murder case was dropped in his lap. Collins can play any of left tackle, left guard, right guard, or right tackle.

The NFL should have let him remove his name from the draft. If there ever was a situation with extenuating circumstances this was it.
Very tough precedent to set. They do this for Collins, what is to stop a guy next year for whatever reason?

What would removing his name from the draft accomplished? Serious question. He would still be a UDFA either way, right?

The rules revolving around the draft are part of the collective bargaining agreement. They just cant make exceptions

There is zero chance he get to the supplemental draft. There are rules that have to happen for him to eligible for it and he did not meet them. The commissioner cannot change the rules either, his hands are tied. They would have to go through the whole collective bargaining agreement for the rules to be changed.

That is not going to happen for one unfortunate person.

If I were him, I would only sign a 1 year prove it (his innocence) deal, then get a new contract for close to what I am worth.

Make him eligible for the supplemental draft...that was the whole point. But, it just couldn't happen as his situation is not covered by the regulations that allow for this (as others have already mentioned).

Chances are good he's going to just wait and enter next years draft. Otherwise he has to sign as a UDFA and the CBA already has a set salary for UDFA's.

He would only get the rookie min deal 3 years for $1.5 mil with a $7000 signing bonus. (that was 2014's numbers so maybe slightly higher).

Compare that to Will Sutton who was our 3rd round pick last year. He got a $588k signing bonus and signed a 4 year $2.5 mil deal.

That is a huge difference. I think if this blows over next year and he looks good at next years combine, he could end up a late 1st or early 2nd round pic and then end up with at least $750k in signing bonus and over $1 mil more in salary than if he signed undrafted.

If he has nothing to do with the murder he'll get what should be a late frist round contract. That's decent money that will change his family's life. .

That is not actually true. There is a limit to how much an UDFA can make, so he is screwed even there.

Like I said before, I would push for a 1 year contract. Then I would get my money after the 1st year.

If he can get a 1-year contract (not sure if possible for UDFA), it may turn out to be a blessing in disguise. He will hit free agency 3 years before everyone else. He will then make the big free agent money and will have a better chance of also getting the 2nd big free agent contract while he is still young.
