My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Minnesota United FC
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
But that wasn't the question. The question was who would you rather have in the exclusive role of offensive PG.
I guess I don't see comparing Lebron and Rose like that. Sure Rose does some things than Lebron, but the end result will always be Lebron>Rose.

LBJ by far Rose has no post game and Rose is 6'3 he is strong as hell probably the 2nd or 3rd best pg in the nba. LBJ has no weakness as a pg he can score from anywhere and pass from anywhere and can run a team as good as Rose. The only thing Rose does better is take criticism from the media and take blame for losses.

If Rose is guarded by a longer player his FG% goes down and goes down quick. Lebron has no weakness anymore offensively Rose has a few.

Lebron shoots 55%

LeBron James does not get those low-post, high-percentage shots when he is in the role of PG on offense.

Spoelstra has Chalmers/Cole and Wade on the floor with LeBron James the vast majority of the time and he is getting fed the ball in those positions.

When the Heat go with a line-up of Bosh-James-Battier-Wade-Chalmers, who is the PG in that line-up offensively?

I don't think Rose struggles to play against bigger defenders. Just look at him getting the better of Pau Gasol at the end of the season opener for one example. You just need to realize that LeBron James is an absolute specimen of a human being who defend every single position in the NBA. Saying Rose can't play against bigger defenders just because LeBron locks him down isn't fair, there is numerous reasons why it happened. One of them being that he had nobody to pass it to who can knock down a shot with Deng out and Rip being crippled.

Paul Gasol??? Pau Gasol is slow as **** and should never be assigned to Rose I am talking about longer players who actually can defend the pg spot like a Tony Allen, Shawn Marion, Shane Battier ect hell even Paul George made him shoot near 40% in the playoffs last year.

I would hope Rose can score on Pau Gasol lol.

When Oscar Robinson got the ball in the post he got it passed to him that doesnt mean he wasnt at pg. Hell Dwill gets the ball in the post quite a bit does that mean he isnt playing pg?? Your logic is flawed very bad.

Many offenses are design to get their players the ball where they can do damage. A pg doesnt always have to pass to the post a SG PF SF C can be the feeder. The Pacers normally have the SG feed Hibbert in the post not our pg. Rick Adleman had his bigs be the main passers not his pg in Sacramento.

Should we just switch the thread to who's more overrated: Rose or LeBron?

And Rose wins that by a full car length. I love D Rose, as does any Bulls fan, but there is this permeating perception among the majority of fans that he does no wrong. Rose is still a flawed player (defensively & offensively).

The only flaw in Lebron's game has NOTHING to do with his actual skills but his mental toughness at times. In terms of pure basketball skill, I've never seen a player as good as LeBron.

*waiting for superfluous MJ rant response*

Basketball is a possession-by-possession game. One possession, a player may be playing a PG while, the next, that same player may be playing a SF/PF type of role. When James gets the ball in the post, he is being guarded by a SF/PF at all times. He has Chalmers and Wade (who both average around 5 assists per-game) along the perimeter feeding him that ball.

Rose is the one who solely plays the PG position on every possession with no help in regard to teammates who can create shots for themselves/others.

James doesn't play one position every time. Rose has.

Chris Paul is a better pure pg than Rose is imo. However, I would take Lebron over any point guard based on sheer ability. Lebron running the point would be fine with me because of his size and speed.

I'll take Chris Paul or Derrick Rose offensively as a PG before LeBron James. James can't do a number of things Rose or Paul can do as well.

I'll take LeBron James as my PG over anybody based on defense. If it wasn't for that difference, Rose or Paul would be better 1's without much question because the offense is more dependable in a half-court set.

Exactly...Cassell and Payton both were excellent pgs when it came to scoring in the post.

There's ZERO Rose haters in here. We just don't view the entire NBA thru Rose-colored glasses.

But saying that LBJ is better PG than Rose is pure hate.I don't see anyone saying that DRose is a better overall player than LeBron.I may like DRose more than this big gorilla with the worst body control ever that can't handle the ball. But overall LBJ is a better player.

Off course DRose will win a championship first being the only offensive force in his team but generally LBJ is better player.Noone says he is not.

LeBron James doesn't keep his dribble alive nearly as well as Paul does. Paul can run the baseline handling the ball and LeBron is simply to big, bulk, and not skilled enough as a ball-handler to do that. Paul and Rose are better at getting deep into the seems of a disciplined half-court defense. And both possess the finesse ability that a PG needs that LeBron isn't quite as good at once in those doubled/tripled predicaments.

So is Chauncey Billups. And who was guarding them? Other PG's for the most part. James has a big body on him every time.

so Im a hater for calling him the 2nd or 3rd best pg in the league:lmao: you fans are ridiculous. If that is a "hater" I guess you are right.

No calling him the 2nd or 3rd best PG in the league is OK if you have CP3 or DWill in #1 and #2.You would have bad taste but that would be OK.But calling him a worse PG than LBJ..
