Should of kept the picks. Oduya doesn't even start to solve the problems on defense.
Fleeced? How often has David Poile been fleeced? But getting Oduya(That would be pending UFA) for a 2nd and 3rd is not a fleecing.
Poile identified a need for a SC run and went for it. Gaustad helps Nashville match up against Joe Thorton or Sedin or Backes in a series. The possibility of several extra home games makes it a risk worth taking.

You are right, but if we get Hammer back you can put Oduya and Lepisto on the third pairing and play the 2nd pairing of Nik and Nick less. Then you can have a real 1st pairing again. It isn't perfect but it will help.
Sure, it will help to an extent, but for the next 20 or so games?
Bowman isn't in it for this season it sounds from his presser. Should of kept the picks for 2013.
I already posted that somewhere today. Management knows we have no chance in the playoffs this year. He is probably going to do something to get a real 3/4 dman, another skilled center, and better bottom 6 wingers over the summer.
because all of his bandaids have worked so far in his last two off seasons.
Don't color me optimistic pal. I want him, McDICK, and Q gone. But the reality is they are here to stay, for at least a while anyways.
Stanbo will make an effort over the summer, next winter will determine if he really is a crap GM or not.

from the sounds of it, no GM wants to deal with the pip squeak!
I'm happy Stan did what he did instead of mortgaging the future for a push (NSH) and making panic moves because they are worried about what other teams are doing (VAN).
30 teams... 15 trades... is everyone really shocked that we only made one move to improve the team?
I'm not.

All of which tells me GM's were not only expecting active roster players, picks, and prospects but also to have their dicks sucked in terms of overpayment.
They want the core players, the Hayes/Shaw/Saad type prospects or our draft picks (which might be pretty tasty this year). They could care less about Frolick, Morrison, O'Donnell, etc.
You can address weakness' without "mortgaging the future". I am disappointed of what transpired or maybe a better way to say it, what did not transpire today.
