"We're a week away from the 2015 NFL Draft, and there's still plenty to dissect. Where does certain players' value lie? What positions are targeted? Which teams might trade up or down the draft order?
Here's what's being discussed as teams begin to solidify draft plans.
— While Jameis Winston is all but locked in as the first overall pick, Marcus Mariota’s destination isn’t clear. The Chargers and Titans are rumored to be working through a deal that would send Philip Rivers to Tennessee for Mariota and an addition pick — the most likely scenario. If that doesn’t happen, No. 4 seems like Mariota's next possible spot, with the Browns and Jets both in the mix to trade up with the Raiders.
Cleveland may be willing to package its two first-round picks to get Mariota, but dropping down to the teens may not be worth it for Oakland. New York appears ready to move on from Geno Smith, and it may not need to include its second-round pick to move up in a trade.
—
There are seven picks I feel confident about if the players are still on the board: Winston to the Bucs, Dante Fowler to the Jaguars, Alvin Dupree to the Raiders, DeVante Parker to the Vikings, Danny Shelton to the Browns, Breshad Perriman to the Ravens and Jordan Phillips to the Colts.
— If the Titans don’t trade the second overall pick, Leonard Williams is the likely selection … but don’t rule out Kevin White. Tennessee has done its due diligence on top receivers in the class, and giving Zach Mettenberger a top target may offer a quicker return than a defensive end/tackle.
— The Dolphins are often linked to a draft trade, and their two most likely targets are Parker and Todd Gurley. The Rams, who are looking at offensive linemen more than receivers, are the most likely top-10 team to trade down.
—
I bet Randy Gregory doesn’t land in the first round. Teams have questions about his marijuana history, failed Combine drug test, effort at the end of his senior season and overall attitude. He’s the top pass rusher on film for many, though, and I do expect him to be picked in Round 2.

— Don’t be surprised if Shane Ray falls out of the top 15; Trae Waynes out of the top 20; Landon Collins and Shaq Thompson out of the first round; Rashad Greene out of the first three rounds.
— Question marks have emerged regarding two of the draft's better pass rushers. Teams don't know what to make of Vic Beasley’s wowing Combine — he added a good amount of weight and tested better than ever. Also, injury concerns may lead to Arik Armstead sliding on draft day.
— Gurley may be in play for the Falcons at No. 8 overall if Alvin Dupree isn’t available. Atlanta has questions about Beasley, and Ray isn’t high on its board. Ray isn’t a top-20 prospect for us, but he is likely to land somewhere in there.
— Beyond the top two quarterbacks, rumors suggest Brett Hundley to the Rams and Bryce Petty to the Broncos, both in Round 2. Garrett Grayson is a wildcard.
— As far as the number of quarterbacks drafted, I’d set the over/under at 6.5 and probably lean toward the under. I’ve heard teams may punt on the position altogether (leading to potential Mike Glennon/Matt Barkely trades). After the first five, Sean Mannion is most likely next. There’s a chance one of the "safer" quarterbacks like Taylor Heinicke and Shane Carden becomes a late-round selection.
— Despite the program being no longer considered a national power, Miami (Fla.) should have five players drafted in the first two rounds. Ereck Flowers and Phillip Dorsett are first-round potentials, with Duke Johnson, Clive Walford and Denzel Perryman all slotted for Round 2.
— Ameer Abdullah's lack of third-down ability, his small hands and a fumbling issue may push him out of the first three rounds. I expect Gurley, Melvin Gordon, Duke Johnson, Tevin Coleman and TJ Yeldon all to go before Abdullah … maybe Mike Davis and David Johnson, too.
— For teams looking at vertical threats, Perriman tops most lists. But there’s some debate whether Devin Smith or Dorsett might be the next vertical receiver off the board. Both are options for Baltimore if Perriman and a top cornerback is not available.
— Gerod Holliman brings value as a centerfield safety, especially for teams that often use five- and six-defensive back sets. But he’ll likely be the second or third Louisville DB drafted.
— The Colts are looking at corners, offensive linemen and nose tackles. All three positions are deep in this draft, but defensive tackle should be addressed first. Cincinnati and Carolina select before Indianapolis, and both need an offensive tackle. The Panthers are a candidate to trade up for Andrus Peat, DJ Humphries or Cedric Ogbuehi."
