I really don't get what is so special about Cooper
Hes not fast or tall and cant jump for shit. seems like he has no elite qualities.
I get he runs great routs, but so do a lot of nfl WR's.
when ever any body describes a players best quality as route running, I compare it to "high Motor" on the defensive side of the ball.

I have said many times I think its stupid to draft a WR in the 1st round unless, hes the next Megatron.
is Cooper even close? not Bashing, just generally curious

Route running and having a "high motor" is extremely underrated. Those things only show up on tape. Jerry Rice wasn't big or fast but he had outstanding hands and his routes were ridiculously good. Look at ODB and Antonio Brown. Both dominated last year despite being smaller than Cooper. Torry Holt, Isaac Bruce and Marvin Harrison weren't big, or exceptionally fast WR's either.

Cooper has this type of potential. Great routes, great hands, has sub 4.4 speed (much faster than people think), has outstanding character and literally just wants to be the best WR there has ever been. He isn't a diva, he is a straight football player who loves competition. Love this kid. My favorite player in the draft.

It's his ability to get separation and get open, despite his size or lack of blazing speed, that makes him an elite prospect. And he actually is fast.

for all the Dupree Lovers...

Alvin Dupree - DL - Wildcats

Kentucky edge rusher Bud Dupree "is one of the top 10 players in this draft," says ESPN NFL Insider Jon Gruden.

"He has very good size," Gruden said. "I have seen him hold the point and be effective as a run defender in an odd front. I have seen him rush the passer. I also love his playing style because he'll come out of the stack, find the man with the ball and knock him down hard. He played right end, left end and outside 'backer. Two years ago I saw him rushing as an inside 'backer." Dupree has become one of the class' most divisive first-round prospects. Some, like Gruden, adore his gifts, while others, such as Pro Football Focus, say he wasn't productive enough in school to garner a selection in the top half of Round 1. We'll find out where the NFL stands in two days. "We see all these quarterbacks in the NFL running around and scrambling," Gruden said. "You need a Dupree who can find the guy with the ball to get there. This kid can get it done as a pass-rusher in a one-on-one situation."

.@Danny_Shelton55 just told us on the air that Cleveland and Chicago have been the two teams that have shown the most interest in him.

I totally get the Shelton thought process by the Bears.

He has a better chance of being an elite run stuffer then the OLBs have of becoming elite pass rushers.

He gives the Bears a heavy weight in the middle of the defense.

That does not mean I will set off fireworks. This would he like when you go test drive a Ferrari, and then go buy a pick up.

and another thing that makes me wonder is.
This year is supposed to have so much WR talent but yet CBs and Safties are supposed to be really bad this year.
well whats what.......dos not seem logical you can have both.
Were the WRs really that great or was the DBs really that bad?

They love Trae Waynes in coverage. Excellent speed and vertical. Horrible at tackling and shedding blocks

Now Gruden and Kiper are talking Scherff. Gruden calls him "downright nasty." Kiper says he's much more physical and strong than most tackles.

(X) Nonsense.

Rice is arguably the best football player to ever live, in a era where DBs could rape a mother fucker.
you don't compare someone whos never played a down in the NFL, to the greatest to ever play.
any time anybody talks about a WR not being fast or tall, they immedietly jump to the Rice comparison and its absurd.

When you make an actual point, i'll respond I guess.

"Ray's camp expects him to fall out of Rd. 1
There is growing belief that Missouri edge rusher Shane Ray will fall out of Round 1, reports TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline.
Ray's citation on marijuana possession Monday may have sealed his shocking tumble from the top 10 to Round 2. Not only is this the belief in the NFL circles Pauline's sources run in, but the "opinion [is] shared by many in [Ray's] camp." Ray isn't helped by injury concerns (a foot specialist recently told the prospect he won't need toe surgery) and mediocre testing numbers.

Amari Cooper - WR - Crimson Tide
A scout compared Alabama WR Amari Cooper to Reggie Wayne.
"Wayne has always been under the radar as being a great receiver," the scout said. "That's Cooper. Makes plays. Get open. Difficult to bring down. Not because he's strong, but because he has a knack and can make a subtle move." Another scout's comparisons were just as complimentary. "I think he's better than Torry Holt, Roddy White," he said. "Very smooth and very polished." Cooper caught 253 passes for 3,401 yards and 25 touchdowns over the past two years in the SEC. "He plays tough," a third scout said. "He's just not I guess the modern prototype now because of the size."

He is not a great value here, but you pair him and Long on the right side of the line, we have a great run game on that side for a decade.

Pete Prisco, CBS Sports, on the battle for the best WR:

"I think Kevin White's better. He's like Julio Jones, and Amari Cooper is Odell Beckham."

That might be dumber than anything I've heard on here. Just start the draft, for the love of God.

Cooper isnt fast? Well ain't that a load of bullshit. I'd post the video of him actually beating White at the combine in a Simulcast but I don't give enough shits anymore.

His football speed is near Elite.
