You guys sound like Score callers.

It's called conventional wisdom. You find a weakness and exploit it. They found his weakness and adjusted. He hasn't adjusted in return.

trying to misdirect from his original post much?

what his eyes see dont lie right now. his actual stats dont lie right now. xFIP for 1 is not known to be true which again as I explained to CO is not considered a stat. There used to be a debate with Randy Wells last year in the cubs forum, and xFIP was used in his defense that randy wells is good, how did that work out? there isnt one metric that is reliable for projections only past stats and trends can one go by. It is very easy to take a shitty player and cherry pick some metrics to make you think you won an arguement.

You always seem to argue when I use xFIP, which is fine. If you don't like you don't like it.

And no, the prediction stats don't always mean improvements are coming, but 98 out of 100 times if someone has a high BABIP, things tend to even out. Guess what? Floyd has a high BABIP during his last 5 starts (as I post earlier and you conviently ignored I noticed)

I'll be back later on, I have to go be a slave to corporate America at 5 (ET)

If you want to continue this, I should be back on around 10-11 my time.

Yes, that's true if a BABIP is over .300 that they probably aren't very lucky.

The problem is that this usually refers to defense not backing him up and the wind or the park affecting him.

But from what I see from Floyd, he's just giving up a ton of hits and that's why his BABIP is high. Hits are in play too.

I love sabremetrics too, but using only numbers isn't really the way to go. Using the numbers and then what you see to interpret the numbers is what needs to be done. A happy medium...

My text to 901 earlier tonight: "FYI, Garbage Ass didn't make it out of the fifth tonight."

Still waiting for the response.

Fair enough.

I don't text at work. I don't want to end up like some of you in this thread and not have a job.

Hate to say I told you so.

But......

I told you so.

I never said Floyd wasn't going through a bad stretch.

The whole point of my original post was that we should expect progression.

I don't understand where I said Floyd is awesome.

He averages as 105 ERA+ as a White Sox starter, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt due to some stats and precedence, that when the season is over, he'll have progressed some and will be to his normals.

Hardly making an "excuse" for him.
