Hey Warden, I watched Pyewaket... It was so so.
You should try The Blackcoat's Daughter if you like occult stuff.

Man...The Blackcoat's Daughter was something else. It chilled me to the bone. I much prefer these low budget atmospheric films opposed the the dumb brainless jump scare films. The score was absolutely chilling and fabulous and upon researching the score further I found out it was the composers first film score...unbelievable. The slow camera shots and long shots just added to it all. I'll be processing this one for a while, kinda like Hereditary. Thanks for recommending it.

Yeah, fucking kickass movie. So brutal... and best of all, the chicks are hot!

I think they had some stuff on the composer in the 'extras' section in the dvd. If i remember right he's the directors brother, and they are sons of the guy that played norman bates in psycho.

Did you see it in a standard format?

I go to Dolby alot and this was the best audio experience I've had so far with it. The sound effects, score, and rumbles were amazing, partially because they were so over the top at times.
The early fight inside the building was insane.

I'm definitely planning on rewatching before it leaves Dolby.
I dunno what kind of sound system they were using but the seats reclined all the way back like a lazyboy :)

Finally saw Solo - 4/5

It was fine. There were some parts I think were rushed like Lando and Han's relationship, but I liked it. I'm also thankful I waited to see it at home.

I thought it kinda sucked. I mean, it was mildly entertaining, it's just comon, this could have been a really exciting and deep dig into who Han is, where he's from, orphan? brother? military background? And then onto a really kickbutt Solo as smuggler... and then Solo running into the Empire holding Wookies as slaves and Han frees them and Chewie joins him... and then onto a few super fun action-packed smuggler adventures with them. This was totally not that! I mean, ya Solo runs into Chewie and they leave together... that was the least exciting or interesting way I could have ever imagined it going down.

I think I rate it so high as this was the first SW movie I did not see right away in the theaters. I had less than zero expectations.

Darth Maul was a nice touch

I saw The Upside yesterday and really enjoyed it....and I typically can't stand Kevin Hart. I'm guessing most of the bad reviews on it are from people butt hurt that the story was switched to being set in America. I'd recommend this movie.

I saw it as well. It's not bad. I prefer the French version but this one was pretty good too. Omar Sy played that character much better than Kevin Hart though

Glass- I liked it. I don’t get all the hate with it. I thought it was a good way to end the trilogy of movies. It gets a little slow, but it worked for me. I’d recommend it if you’re a fan of the first two.

Serenity-easily the wackiest twist in a movie I’ve seen. It didn’t work for me and I doubt it will work for most people but I respect it since it was ballsy. A true wtf moment

The 1st act of The Kid Who Would Be King left some to be desired, then the 2nd act picked it up...only for the 3rd to drop it.

Not a bad movie, but at least two levels down from Attack the Block.

Would my nephews enjoy it if I took them to this?

Yeah. The same stuff that will be cliche to you, can be new to them. This movie will be like that in some ways.

Also, as this article I read pointed out, kids these days don't really have these kind of live-action films like we did growing up. Everything is either animated or Marvel. Since Harry Potter ended, when's the last time you saw an action-adventure movie with middle school aged kids? One worth watching atleast.

I saw They Shall Not Grow Old yesterday. It is absolutely fascinating. Peter Jackson and his crew went to painstaking detail on every aspect of this film. It is nothing short of amazing how they breathe life into 100 year old footage.

Stay after the credits. There is a 30 minute short on how the movie was made.
