Any of you guys get to see Alita: Battle Angel yet?

I’m still debating on seeing it. I heard a lot of buzz but then some of the critic reviews came in and they weren’t good. It his up 12% on rotten tomatoes since I last looked though. From what I’ve been hearing, if you’re a fan of anime then you will like the movie.

I'm definitely seeing it in IMAX 3D, I guess it's a can't miss 3D experience.

I'm not a doc person but I really liked Free Solo in IMAX. It's structured like a sports/competition film and there was alot of dangerous things being done during it, so that made it easier to not be bored by.

I'm definitely seeing it even though I'm not expecting anything from the story. It's one of those movies I'll watch for the genre, world building, universe etc. It looks like it'll be interesting even if it's not good.

Cold Pursuit, Lego Movie, Alita, and Happy Death Day 2 all coming out in the next 10 days.

I saw They Shall Not Gtow Old yesterday. It is absolutely fascinating. Peter Jackson and his crew went to painstaking detail on every aspect of this film. It is nothing short of amazing how they breathe life into 100 year old footage.

Stay after the credits. There is a 30 minute short on how the movie was made.
Wow! Looks stunning. When I watched the "World War II in HD Colour" series on Netflix, it definitely had an impact on my perception of the footage I was watching... that being it was real. But this purposely takes that concept all the way, to hopefully engage the quote, “Anyone, who truly wants to go to war, has truly never been there before!”. Looking forward to seeing it.

By the way, have you seen the "World War II in HD Colour" series? For me, the best WW2 war overview doc I've yet seen. Even as a long time buff, I learned many things I had never known before.

Visually the WWII program was very good. Historically, it was a bit off in some places. I suggest watching with the sound off, at least during the narration.

Watch it with the sound off? LOL! Say what?! YOU thought it was historically inaccurate in some places? Please, give me one example. Actually, I've read some points and counterpoints, but haven't confirmed any reasonable inaccuracies yet. As I recall this doc series stays clear from unsubstantiated claims, suspect analysis and goofy name calling. But I'd love to research a claim of historical inaccuracy.

I was being more facetious than anything. I watched this when it originally came out about a decade ago. Has Netflix updated it in any way?

Any film or show of this length dealing with the war is bound to have some contentious points, or presentation. It of course is told from an allied viewpoint, which is fine, but I felt the narration was weak, particularly in the final episode, and its seeming reasoning, and justification, for the bombings of Japan. A contentious subject apart from this film though.

It's worth a watch for the visuals IMO. The narration, and script IMO was not as strong.

I enjoyed it. How are you not on Wardrobes "despicable 7" list?

Wardenny knows I mean no malice, and am here for a few laughs, and a bit of conversation. Not to make anyone feel bad. I think I've expressed that to him, and I believe he has accepted it.

Either that, or I'm just hard to ignore, which, as a Canadian, I feel is unlikely. My apologies.

This time around I watched it mostly for Keaton's performance which I felt was worth of a nomination.
