Thanks for the recommendation of Moon. It was very good. I even went ahead and watched the director's second feature Source Code. Interesting idea, but even if one is able to suspend disbelief, there were just too many ways to go with this film, and I feel the money involved forced a happy ending. It wasn't his story this time.

I see he has just done the new Warcraft movie. Not sure what to think of that.

I'll probably get a "yeah, no shit," response, but in case you didn't know, the director is David Bowie's son.

It was mentioned earlier in the thread. Don't think the movie was that good. Once you realized the plot it didn't really go anywhere from there. Also slow moving throughout.

Out-fucking-standing film. Saw this 3-4 years ago. Amazing film.

i went into expecting something of a hard boiled crime flick with a strong female lead, or something of a neo noir, but instead got, what on paper was something of a hitchcockian thriller, but in execution was presented like your typical french art film. and the basis for the whole thing was rather silly.

not bad, but far from great film.

Phenomenal movie and my god probably one of the most brutal films I've ever seen. The arm bar break from the trailer is probably the most pleasant thing that happens to anyone in this movie.

This film has a wide release now, go see it.

You should read about it too. The move did a great job depecting what actually occurred in real life. Obviously some things were changed to make it more Hollywood, but for the most part, they pretty much told the story like it actually happened.

I saw the movie last Saturday and on Sunday 60 Minutes did a story on how they eventually found Whitey Bulger. The news story literally picked up where the movie left off.
