Yes, as the MLB offices will usually grant a brief extension of time if a deal is absolutely on the verge of being finalized. Also, reporters are usually an hour or two behind the teams, even with today's technology and apparent sources that like to be glorified in small ways in the press.
Kind of disappointing if Dempster is the only other move given all the buzz, but still some good done with netting Vizcaino. Hopefully Dempster nets us a solid prospect or two from a deep Rangers system (no not Profar, Olt, Perez, Ramirez, or really anyone in their top 10 but a 12 or 15 guy from the Rangers is probably better than a 8-10 guy in the Dodgers system).
