I don't think it's that simple and I don't think he's nixed anything nor approved anything. If you have the no-trade rights and you asked the team to inform you of a trade beforehand, I don't think this happens. That someone (ATL beat writers, whatever) jumped the gun is probably not kosher, and maybe everyone overreacted, but it's definitely understandable given his family situation and his affinity to Chicago that he'd need more time to figure it out. That's his right/privilege/whatever. Naturally that doesn't mean we can't be annoyed or mad about it, but it's all on him and I don't presume to know how he's feeling right now, which is what the media is doing while putting out these tweets and grasping at straws.
