But the fact that we've gone from getting Randall Delgado to probably to roll the dice on even getting a comp pick from Ryan Dempster is a reason for anger. I'm not sure Ryan Dempster deserves the brunt of it, but it is hard to place elsewhere with what we've been given.

About whether CHC could be at risk Dempster would accept '13 qualifying offer: They could always make it clear they're putting him in 'pen.

I suppose that is true, but that seems an empty threat. I am just doubtful that a team will offer a deal if it costs them their top unprotected pick and the money (money being equally or even more important than the pick) for Dempster.

And all of this talk only confirms that Garrett Gould is the best pitching prospect the Dodgers are offering from Dempster which again leads me to getting pitchforks out.

:shot:=Cubs fans

What else is there to say when we've been reduced from a 22 year old that could step into the rotation now with the upside of a 3 in a contending team's rotation to a compensation pick if Dempster turns it down and other teams are willing to give up the pick and cash for a 36 year old starting pitcher.

And I'm not saying you don't have justifications, I'm just pointing it out in general

The Cubs went from sitting in the cat bird seat to jack shit in the matter of 48 hours with their current rotation. It sucks and any zen don't get to upset about mantra doesn't take that away.

I still blame Atlanta. And the Kardashians. Just because.

They're not putting him in the bullpen :lol: That would be petty and idiotic.

Well of course it sucks! But what are you supposed to do about it?

The possibility of a trade exists, but the Cubs are frustrated by their lack of leverage, Morosi tweets.

I guess the trade is kaput if the Cubs can't leverage.

Well this sucks. Now the front office should be putting all their effort in getting a deal for Matt Garza.

Look the bottomline is that Dempster had a chance to move into Kerry Wood territory in terms of fanbase and instead he will be remembered in the same breath as Job Lieber, Kevin Tapani, and Ted Lilly a decade from now. That is ulitmately what has happened in this deadline if you want to ignore the Cubs being denied a 22 year old that could be plugged into the rotation right now.

Lost a lot of respect for Dempster in regards to the way he handled this situation. Very disappointed with the end result.

I am shocked by all of this. a comp is NOT enough. I want to know who failed in this. If ATL was on his list he should have accepted a trade, if he only wanted to go to LA he should have stated that from the get go.
