Nothing amazing, but he was the most consistent pitcher on this team for half a decade. With his charity work and media friendly persona he had a decent shot at getting a job with the organization or media once he was done. Bottomline is this is that while it is his right to do this, it has made this team worse going forward.
There's one team that Ryan would be traded to with only minutes to think and they haven't been mentioned. He'd be on a playoff contending team and not really have to leave at all. Prediction: Welcome to the South Side!!

And it is my concern to care about the team. Hence why I don't enjoy Ryan Dempster being here, and can we please stop with this whole prospect nonsense. Delgado isn't a known commidity, but he has already made it to the big leagues and put up respectable numbers. He is a pretty safe bet to be at least a guy that can take the ball every fifth day which is going to be way, way more than what we can say about anything we get for Ryan Dempster now.Possibly, hard to say with a prospect and where the Cubs are right now anyways. It is not a player's concern to make a team better. It is a player's concern to play to their abilities. Demp has done that.

It's not a terrible idea. If the Cubs want to trade with LA, even with lost leverage they could ask the White Sox what they'd give up for Demp, especially since the Sox were rumored to be in on Greinke (which was kind of amusing). Demp would cost less, so Sox could potentially have something more valuable than whatever LA was lowballing the Cubs with. That's if the Cubs are hellbent on trading him instead of holding out for the draft pick.
I say we send him to Boston as the final compensation for Theo.
Sent from the chip aisle in Fisch's Fareway, using fingers, technology, mystic and wonder.
While I doubt the Al helps his case, it shouldn't be underestimated the offensve improvement the Cell is to Wrigly.per kaplan yesterday- he will not pitch for the white sox as he does not want to go there.
he is probably scared of the cell and the fact that its the AL.
You know what is weird we haven't heard a damn thing what the compensation what Jed Hoyer and Jason McLeod is. East coast bias indeed...

Any chance Atlanta revisits the Dempster trade or did that ship sail for good? Now that Greinke is off the market, Dempster might be their last hope since Shields and/or J. Johnson might cost too much for the Braves to consider.
