My point was, sometimes a lower round pick pans out. San Fran sold the farm to move up to #3, and look who they have starting, so I am not sure WTF point your trying to make?

Who's to say they want Bagent to start the rest of the season or simply to bench Williams a game to say, hey get your head out of your ass and learn from the vets like Moore. I'm not sure Moore is just checked out, but annoyed by Williams attitude. The "big bro, lil bro" comments come to mind. And it's like hey that isn't gonna fly until you prove yourself, take a game to think about that, reset, and reflect.

Your concept of what's acceptable in a team game would be a bigger lost team than Flus has or even Trestman had.
If you're that player vs the #1 pick QB 10 weeks into the season you're simply gone. I don't care who you are. The QB is more important than you.
And that's without the media leak.
Come to me with that request and then leak it to the media I'll find a way to screw your career for the rest of your life. And that could be as simple as releasing the info that you leaked it to the media. No team will ever hire you.

Wow, and people thought Caleb's dad was going to be a problem.
I hate to punish a player for his parent but is Bagent worth this? (If it's true, and they'd probably know by now from last year if that part is true.)
If that tracks I'd put Bagent in to showcase him with a proper scheme to make him look good and put him on the trade block at the end of the year.

My point is usually it takes more that 1/2 a season and a perfect example is in your own backyard. One is the exception and the other is why most eventual NFL starters got taken in round 1.

Hard to know what Bagent is actually worth without seeing him play after his initial NFL introduction.
If his dad did this and it's pure speculation right now, Bagent needs to tell his dad to STFU and to not talk ball with him any more. So far, it's helped get rid of Waldron so it's hard to get too upset but IF his dad did that, it can't continue regardless of whether the info was true or not. One strike does not get you cut, especially when it's not you directly and by association.

It was a major mistake not having a supportive, vet QB backing up Caleb.
Not to say this is Bagent's fault, because if it's true it's his dad and not him but he is right to have his own aspirations but that energy ain't it when it comes to supporting another young QB. Poles mismanaged this so fucking wildly.

JK, schefter never broke anything. He was stating what the bears could do to fix how bad the offense/caleb was, and suggested maybe even switching to bagent for a game or two
This "story" solely came from Silvy from the Waddle & Silvy show. He spent 2 hours on the radio yesterday defending his take after cole kmet said its fake news.

Just a dude who's done it before, I remember how in Houston Case Keenum played a big role because he filtered what the coaches wanted and helped make Stroud's life easy.
At no point have I seen anything from this regime that's made either Justin's or Caleb's life simple. Both years Justin fell flat on his face because they played to his weaknesses only to have him adjust and play way better. This year they've put so much on Caleb's plate and he's struggled to find his footing while pairing him with a coach that NEEDS to win now to keep his job. What a clusterfuck.

Schefter didn't report that players requested it. They, the organization, discussed it to "give him a break to try to save him". To imply Schefter was saying that players came and asked him to be benched for Bagent is a different conversation.

The problem with what Dan Orlovsky is saying here is that if you keep playing Williams you are essentially quitting on the season. He’s really about as bad as it gets, unless he does something unprecedented to turnaround his game he’s going to drag the entire team down.
You can say that 4-5 in this division they are pretty much cooked anyways. You’re probably right, but with all six division games to go nobody’s fate is sealed. The Bears still control their destiny. Are you willing to wrap the season up, put it in a little raft and float it down the river so Caleb Williams can feel good about not being benched?
Be careful with the precedent that sets.
