In order to get Nash, Sather just agreed to sign Crosby and Stills (E5)

He has to. High harmony by itself is just sad.

He also has offer sheets for Michael Anthony and Timothy B. Schmit.

Exactly. Haven't we seen enough of the Hawks signing over-aged veterans that disappoint? Madden was the only exception.

except his game is exactly what the Hawks need. Which is why he'll get 6 mil plus per year.

Assuming he can keep it up, stay healthy, etc. He's not worth FOUR YEARS at anywhere near that much. One year? Yeah, maybe. Four? **** off. Especially since it is a 35+ contract. He's also been a major fucking douchebag the last couple seasons with the dirty play.

if Kyle Beach is ready (and I think he will be) then I'll take him over Doan.

I'd like to see Beach but to say he has the talent, leadership or any of the qualities Doan has is comical at this point.

Pez I think everyone has said 4 years at 7.5 is quite rediculous. 1-2 years until some other forwards gain experience, zero problem. His drive for the Cup right now is probably unlike ANYONE on this team at this point. At least the "superstars"... They all already have their name on it.

I suppose were also assuming JT will stay healthy, or any number of other players for that matter as well. He's more likely to be injured? Check out his games played. He missed three games last year, I believe he was suspended. In 12 years he's missed 32 games. In his last four years, while he's "aging" he's missed 13.

I never mentioned the talent (which I think has been overrated like any other UFA) or the leadership, but he brings the grit, and a hell of a shot. he's a good player, and has a cap hit of 1.2

Nope want nothing to do with the dinosaur. We had our old folks home movement. We bounced in the 1st round. I want younger.

It's amazing that in a meeting room in Toronto owners are pleading to reduce the percentage to 50% all the while there are discussions regarding paying someone like Doan 6 to 7.5 million per. I give up on the game. Some of the owners didn't learn a damn thing when they wasted an entire year. I'm taking a year off from a NHL arena and see if I miss it all that much.

They say the "cost" for Ryan is a top 6 forward...puck moving Dman...and a prospect

I'd offer Bolland/Leddy/Lalonde (or Beach, Morin....)

Granted, that'll leave Kane as 2nd line center (for another year or until one of the prospects is ready) but improve the top 6

Sharp-Toews-Stalberg

Ryan-Kane-Hossa

Bickell-Kruger-Shaw

Carcillo-Mayers-Hayes/Bollig

Keith-Seabrook

Oduya-Brookbank

Hjarll-Montador

Olsen

Hawks are bigger/more phyiscal up front for sure this year...and on D with 3 RH shots as well

That center depth is atrocious and that defense is incredibly thin. If you're going to give them a top-six forward, float Stalberg their way instead and see if they bite. Besides, Stalberg isn't a RW anyway and the Ducks have decent center depth to begin with and by dealing Ryan they would be ridiculously thin on LW.

Well...the C depth is going to be Toews, Kruger, Bolland, Mayers anyways...I don't think Toews, Kane, Kruger and Mayers is worse - when adding a young/power wing top line player

And the D? Sopel and Boynton were 5 and 6 on the Cup team...moving Leddy would make them "thin"? Olsen and Clendening are 2 young players some say aren't far away.

The Ducks are wanting a center back, from all "rumored" reports.

I think that Q wouldn't want Bolland moved for how much he plays him.

I just don't think a Kruger/Leddy/Saad (who I doubt the Hawks would offer with the hype they have on him)...would get it done
