McCown has looked pretty decent in his last 2 games in CLEVELAND!! He even sometimes goes an entire game without turnovers!!

Russell Wilson.

and...

bridgewater or carr could have been had by trading back into the late first round.

Jimmy Garoppolo could have been had in the second.

Garrett Grayson or Mannion could have been taken in the third.

any one of them would have been worth taking a flyer on IMO since unlike some of you i dont see a difference between trying to find a legit franchise QB and failing or watching cutler play the team into mediocrity year after year.

but lets say you dont feel any one of those players were worth taking, alright, the lack of better options still doesnt make jay a better QB than he is.

personally I would have loved to have seen the bears trade up into the late first for carr. shit, they could have traded back and gotten him. but if we somehow land goff, even better.

Nope...but you have to question why a journeyman QB with less physical gifts clearly outplayed him with the same supporting cast.

*for those playing along...this is why Emery was shit canned.

Don't know but I've seen backups get hot before then suck elsewhere. So why does it matter? Mccown proved he was worse than Cutler yet you are still stuck on his only good games during his career

Because Cutler had more to play for than McCown...c'mon PIB...I know you're not that dense.

McCown was coaching HS football when the Bears brought him in.

The fear of looking for a QB is way overplayed around here.

Try and try again until you find one and don't just sit on an avg guy year in and year out.

It's fun comparing back ups to starters though.

You know one bud was the one who brought Mccown up, right? I asked why did it matter what Mccown did. It least read the conversation before you continue taking shots at my expense please

It's about the only comparison Cutler garners after 10 years in the league.

I mean we could compare him to Carr, Bridgewater or Bortles. But...they at least have something to build upon.

Who is afraid to look for a QB around here?

Not really. Like I mentioned before certain posters just cherry pick stats because if they compared full ones it wouldn't roll with their agenda. Why don't you compare Mccown and Cutler's career stats!

Because that's not really an endorsement of Cutler either.

Why? You have no problem comparing Mccown's 2013 games to anything else. What is the problem now?

I prefer to make the comparisons with variables pretty similar. I mean did McCown's time in AZ project how he will play with the Bears? No.

Just because Jay's 8 or 9 years of stats are somewhat better than McCowns career as pretty much a backup doesn't really merit much.

first of all mccown didnt come in for one game and look alright, he played at an extremely high level over the course of a number of games, and more importantly in the same system, with the same surrounding cast, and with the same coaching.

come on.

So ifI cherry pick a stat does that mean Cutler is now comparable to the QB that I compared the cherry picked stat too?

You consider comparing 6 years of production cherry picking?

Offer up some legit contributions to the topic... or just keep stamping your feet like a baby in every cutler thread without ever offering substance. I don't care.
But for years all you have been doing is...

Ok so let me get this straight. It's only okay for us to compare Mccown's seasons as a bear to Cutler because he was one and it isn't okay to compare careers just because but it is fine to compare Jay to other QB's like Fitzpatrick as long as the stats allow but if they don't its not okay!
