Death toll up to 84 from the camp shooting... wow. CNN has an interview with someone who was shot in the shoulder and was about 15 feet away from the shooter (playing dead) as he was shooting people.

In fact he kind of resembles marian hossa.

Yes, they were right saying it was a terrorist attack. No issue there. Second, they didn't accuse Muslims of anything. What I heard was a question on whether this was Islamic extremism. No accusations there by Fox. I don't have a problem with that reporting. If someone has a video clip showing Fox accusing Muslims of this I'd like to see it.

Why do people even spend the effort of defending the motives of a mainstream news network? What they do is so obvious. CNN is less obvious, which in some ways actually makes them worse.

I just walked by a TV in the hallways here at work and a certain American news network...cough cough...Fixed News...was claiming it is a terrorist attack and trying to make the leap that it is probably Arab extremists behind it.

Nice, back to making up the news for sensational purposes. Rupert...you took no notes at parliaments grilling, huh?

Kerfluffle: And they were right on both counts

Now how are you spinning this? You said they were right that it was muslim terrorists in the above dialogue. When they were not, in fact most of the world jumped right to that conclusion and was wrong, so i dont soley blame fox news.

Although news networks in general should be more responsible and report facts not assumptions. Admittedly before I found out, I would have assumed it was muslim terrorists, and they would have had odds in vegas.

There's nothing to spin. Let's look at the facts:

Fact #1: Fox news reports a terrorist attack occurred.

Outcome: It's the truth - it was a terrorist attack

Fact #2: Fox eludes that it might be Islamic extremists.

Outcome: It's the truth - we all thought it was Islamic extremists. Maybe you would have preferred they say they have no idea who is behind it. Fair enough. But I don't think that suggesting this could be Islam doing it is irresponsible journalism.

So bottom line - I stand by my first post. I don't see the controversy or conspiracy here.

fyi - I will add that Laura Ingraham definitely got it wrong on the evening broadcast she hosted filling in for Bill O'Reilly. She clearly said it was Muslim extremists and was wrong. So I will give you that one.

It was flat out irresponsible journalism.....it might be should never be used when reporting. Hmmm, a bombing, might be the IRA, might be the Red Hand, might be some dumb ass anti gov't ****. Until more facts are in "A bombing occured, no one has claimed responsibilities and there are no suspects" works until there are.

If you weren't already married, I have the perfect wife for you. Ann Coulter. She is one scary *****, so you'd need cast iron underwear. To borrow a phrase from Scott Clifton "It's so hot out, I'm sweatin' like Ann Coulter on judgment day."

We could say the exact same about Maddow. Then again, she would not work. She does not care for the man meat.

Do they just give security clearance to anyone? That isn't meant as a slam toward you. It's just that I know of 4 people on here that have or had security clearance and that just seems like a large number for this small of a msg board.

I had a top secret security clearance while on active duty as well. I beleive that has to maintained and reviewed periodically if I recall correctly.

You're right, I don't think Maddow and Coulter would make a good couple.

Fluff you are wrong again. This has not been coined a terrorist act by anyone but the media. Just because he targeted civilians does not mean it was politically or religiously motivated.

Might that be determined upon interagation and further investigation? Maybe. But the authorities in Norway have yet to call it that. Currently they are coined as criminal acts of a murderous nature by a madman.

Correct, a TS has to be periodically reviewed every 5 years. It's loads of fun...not. They will talk to my ex wife, neighbors, friends, family...etc.
