The biggest things I didnt like about last nite's game -
The Dmen - once again - letting Dallas forwards between them, and the net. On that first PP goal, Erickson was open enough in the slot to take a rebound shot, then Morrow open enough to bang in the rebound - while Keith and Seabrook merely threw their sticks at them. No body to body play. I think Hjarlmarsson as well on the second goal, again, didnt have position.
But....the worse, was that dickwad Burish on Crawford - and none of the Hawks pulled him off. Zip. A few pokes here and there...thats it. As much as everyone hates Boynton, he's the only Hawk that regularly sticks up for teammates for shit like that. Even if he goes overboard, I'd rather have that then everyone standing around watching. I was pretty embarassed by the Hawks on that play.
Something I dont get/notice about Bickell...it seems he never takes more than 2/3 strides anywhere he goes. Takes a few strides...and thats it. No "power" or purpose when skating, either with or without the puck.
I'd like to see the Hawks try to get Langenbrunner. Not sure how they'd fit him/what it would take...but a guy like him would bring some grit, leadership to a forward group/team that needs it right now.
