Six pages before the puck even drops. Wow... All over Jack Skille too.

I really don't understand what everyone's problem with Skille is. It's his first sustained stint in the NHL, and I think he's doing fine, actually. I remember very similar conversations in regards to another Blackhawk player. Rene Bourque. How many of you wouldn't take Bourque back on this team right now? It's not like Skille has had a chance to play with guys that can put the puck in the net, either. I would personally like to see how he does playing with two of Toews/Sharp/Hossa/Kane for four or five games in a row. Reminds me of how Brouwer started off his NHL career too... with very similiar production.

Some of you guys must not have played much hockey. It's not Skille's fault he's playing with guys that have almost no offensive ability. What the **** should he be doing instead of shooting the puck? Passing it to offensive threats like Scott, Hendry, or Dowell? No. It's not his fault where he was drafted, either.

I hate when people make the argument relating a persons play to his salary. After the name is put on the paper, it means nothing. They are here to do a job and they are professionals, if they suck they suck. If they overachieve they overachieve. They are professionals, they have a job to do, they are expected to perform. If they don't they suck. Not, they suck less because they are getting paid less. Sharp is well outperforming his contract in my opinion. If he sucks donkey next year, will it be acceptable because he doesn't make as much as Kane or Toews?

Everyone MUST be a dominant force in their first year. If you're not scoring 20+ goals, but the time you're 23....you're done. Time to move on.

Dan Cleary was taken...13th overall by the Hawks...scored 44 goals in his first 400gms. 85 goals in the last 300gms.

When hes playing as a 4th line energy player, there's not much more he can produce. All things considered hes doing a fine job with the cards that Q has dealt to him.

The part I don't understand is if they are using him in a 4th line/checking role why is he not learning how to play the PK? Its as if they don't even want to bother developing the kid.

When Skille was drafted...he shouldve declined. Said, "No thanks...I may only be a 3rd/4th liner...but thanks anyways."

How about Portland taking Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan...or Benjamin Button (Greg Oden) over Kevin Durant. Not THATS a raping.

I just stole this from another board and thought it was more than appropriate for this entire board. We may even have to put it in the header.

My stance on Skille?

I don't want a team full of him, but I for sure want a Skille type on my team.

Hossa only has 9 goals he's on pace for 18. And he is over 23 so get rid of him too.

...I would hate to see Skille scoring 20-25 goals a year in another sweater, people need to start cutting the rookie some slack. Hes 23 years old for **** sakes.

My point exactly, Ton. I don't have a Skille woody, but he's doing just fine so far this year....

Can't keep benching a guy that puts the work ethic in game in and game out. What is Q thinking?

Are there things going on with Skille behind closed doors that we don't know of? This makes no sense to me. Our 4th line was starting to click and starting to look good with Skille on it, we finally have a healthy team again and NOW Q wants to **** around with chemistry? What the **** is that?

WHAT THE ****?

Pez... good comparison to Bourque but to be honest I wouldn't take Bourque back. He has fit well into Calgary's system never fit in well with ours and I doubt he would even today. Hell doesn't hurt when you are playing with Iginla sometimes too. Would Bourque be getting top line minutes here? Not a chance. Not with our system and not with our depth. But good comparison none the less.

Hawks have to unload Skille if they aren't going to use him and if they are going to jerk him around like this. It's fair to the kid and there is still something to be said about being fair. Hawks have grown a reputation the last few years of being good to their players and treating everyone fairly. Well at least Tallon and Dudley had that philosophy. Lets not ruin that reputation. Hawks need to deal Skille if he is going to be bench warming when he should be on the ice. Grab some class Hawks.

More Skille talk? Good Grief. As long as he isnt blatantly hurting the team, anything else is a bonus, thats my opinion, not like hes eating up oodles of cap space.

Setting the bar kinda low, aren't you?

If ANY player isn't contributing, they are hurting the team.

Jack is contributing somewhat, so I don't think he falls into this category.

John Scott is hurting the team because he is wasting cap space.

Seriously, we need to send him down and call up someone else whose cap hit is $500k so we can ***** about how he isn't contributing enough.

Why do you think his salary matters?

He is a complete waste of a roster spot. He doesn't contribute a damned thing ton the team.

How about raising the bar a little and actually expect something from your players?

His fights don't mean anything. He is a sideshow to the game on the ice, not really part of it.

Well, between them both and the current available free space we have 1.782 in cap space to get something more useful with another player.

Exactly. Why does anyone give a **** about how much a player makes? It's not your money.

It's about cap space and John Scott is a waste of it.
