Thought Skille played a great game and sure he had some great opportunities that he didn't capitalize on but at least he CREATED the opportunities with hard work and getting involved in the play, which you can't say for about 3/4 of the team tonight.
I've noticed this, but when the opposition is coming into the Hawks zone on the attack, our defensemen are positioning themselves so that incoming attacker takes the middle of the ice. I was always taught that you force them to the boards as they have lesser net to shoot on and a worse odds to score. Seabs was the worst at it tonight and gave away a lot of chances for the middle of the zone.
Just checked the box score and noticed that Keith was in the lineup.
Turco let in a softy with the slapper.
I did notice this more considering it was a live game and you can see the entire ice compared to a broadcast, but Kane and Toews take a lot of wacks and are pushed around a lot. I'll give them credit that they take their licks and keep going as if nothing happened.
The whole team took shifts off tonight when they really should have buried the 'yotes. I have to think that Q is losing his mind, but then again calling a time out after the 'yotes iced the puck and had a tired line out there kind of through me for a loop. I figured you go to your secondary players who have stamina like Sharpie, Kopecky, Brouwer, then take a time out and lose the advantage. Then again, there's a good reason why I'm up in the stands and not on the bench!
