I did like the comeback tonight a lot more promising than the game before. Bryzgalov is a great goalie and played like it. Boy how stupid is Russia for not using him in the Olympics? Yeah use Nabokov dopes. Any way the pp looked good today. Bolland actually was on a roll faceoff wise. Brouwer played well on the third line. 6 out of 12 points on the trip is not great but not fatal. Should have been 8 or 9 if not for some really bad breaks. This homestand is big. Christ 4 years ago making the playoffs would be unreal for the Hawks.

Screw the effort, Jim. They LOST....bottom line. Kane looked like a dipshit on both the breakaway and in the SO...another lost point. Effort doesn't cut it any more. W's do....

But, unlike Pez, I watched the WHOLE GAME....

You're a much awesomer fan than I, I guess. Sorry, had better things to do tonight. Doesn't sound like I missed much though. Sounds like a typical Hawks loss this season.

Memorial service for a family member >>>>>> Hawks game. Glad they played well, "considering", though. Doesn't matter in the end, because they still didn't get two points. Which is all that really matters in the grand scheme of things. According to a few buddies that watched the game, the Hawks had another game where they failed to show up for large stretches. Stupid mistakes and blown chances cost us this game too. After the game last night, I really didn't miss not watching them tonight. A much needed break, I think.

Can't have your second line center going 1 win 10 losses in the circle. Thought the team had a sure 2 points when Kaner had the breakaway. Frolik needs 10 lbs addl muscle so he can separate opposing players from the puck instead of letting his stick do the work.

All in all not a horrible road trip in that they got half their points, factor in they got screwed out of goals that would have added 3 more points.

Agreed, but they need to start separating themselves.

They've got a couple of days to figure out how to get Kopecky away from the center ice position.

He is AWFUL there!

Throw Kopecky down to the 3rd line and move Bolland to the 2nd. Should bolster the 2nd line, and Kopecky is decent enough at causing "damage" on the 3rd line. Would like to know what Johnson's issue is as I think he can be the 3rd line center for this team....and move Kopecky back to wing.

I agree, I've wondered why Johnson has'nt been getting much ice time since he got here. Seeing Cokepepsi on the 2nd line has been as frustrating to me as seeing Boynton on the 3rd pairing.

Looked like he was grabbing his neck or collar bone after the hit in Dallas. He came out for one more shift and was gone the rest of the game. Fact they put him on the IR almost immediately is not good. If not I'd remove Kopecky from Center perminently. He is NOT a good center.

I suggest moving Bolland up weeks ago and letting Johnson do the 3rd line which he is made for.

Not sure what the **** Q does on most nights. Again I think this team won the Cup last year on talent, not coaching.

The more I watch this year, the more I agree with that.

I think they're losing some points this year based on coaching decisions (the D pairings and dressing Cullimore or Boynton instead of Hendry, immediately come to mind).

Line juggling. Playing Hendry and Scott at forward, together. Playing Scott on defense. The Scott experiment altogether. Boynton. Cullimore. Our Penalty Kill. Fucking with the #1 PP in the NHL. Playing guys out of position(Kopecky at center is FAIL). Playing Pisani in the top six. Constant shuffling of Brouwer from top six to bottom six. Giving Stalberg icetime over Skille in the top six. The list goes on and on. If the Hawks don't make the playoffs this year, you HAVE to look at coaching as the #1 reason.

Ya man... if John Scott hadn't played one game this year things would have been MUCH different.

No, but there were times he was on the ice when he should have been sitting in the press box. Adding nothing to the game but 5 minutes of appearance time.

He or Boynton over Hendry at D has cost this teams a bunch of points.

John Scott is one example of Q's poor coaching moves. He did list others.

I would give Bowman equal blame, for it was his decision to sign the dreadful Scott.

I wuold think it was also his decision to ironically play Boynton right before TDL time. As if there was a value for that.

Good point. Do you think player "showcasing" still goes on?
