Also, this game should cement the fact that Stalberg doesn't belong on the top line. I don't care if Brouwer hasn't earned top 6 minutes, he has shown in the past that he can gel really well with K and T. I would say Bickell but he is too soft for that role.

have no fucking clue why Q put stalberg up there again or bickell throughout the game. and i like bickell but the boy is not top 6 material yet.

i am getting a vibe that brouwer and Q may not be in the best of terms to be honest. Brouwer doesn't seem very fucking happy being here this year from what his play has shown and i dont think q has done jack shit to evolk any confidence in him.

just saying. I am probably way out to lunch here but its been a while since i saw a smile on brouwers face. I would be pissed off too seeing a guy like stalberg get 1st line minutes. hey Q guess who helped you win your first stanley cup last year? was it stalberg? stalberg has neeeeeeeeever worked on the top line yet you keep going bac to it. what were those lines we had going in that great win over detroit? yahhhh..not the fucking lines you have been using since that win.

I just wish when the hawks have a defensive dynamite game like they did tonight that the offense could match it. even though again I do think Smith had a good game.

I was thinking the exact same thing regarding Brouwer. Clearly he must be in Q's dog house because he would've been 1st in line last year to take Sharp's spot on the top line. I don't care how good or bad he has played this year, he is the best option right now. period. Bickell or Stalberg have no ability to create space for K or T.

I don't think Smith was that good. He made 2 maybe 3 good saves all night. Hawks were taking horrible shots and missing nets all night as if it was the name of the game.

On a side note, Foley was unbearable. Calling Kopecky Bickell and saying someone did something who wasn't even on the ice. Even snuck in a "Vinny St. Louis" at one point. Shame, he has clearly lost it.

Borderline Q loss again tonight imo

Sooooo uhhhh here's the real question... when are the checking lines going to fucking do their damn job?

Checking or not you can't win if you don't score. Our star players have to be our Star players. Toews, Kane, Hossa..

I thought Kane had a pretty good game but he can't do it by himself. Toews, looked tired and I'm not sure where Hossa was.

Sharp and Bolland out are not helping... with them gone this is whats left of last years team

Toews

Kane

Hossa

Brouwer

Hjarlmarsson

Keith

Seabrook

Campbell

8 guys....

Anything they do this year I'll be satisfied with. Tough loss tonight. Oh and just to add I don't think we win ANY games Tim Peel is officiating.

Why didn't Downy get a roughing for popping Seabrook in teh Jaw for a clean hit. Just before Hjralmrasson got his delay of game, which they scored the only goal, the Lighting did the same thing in our end, no call.

Glad I didn't bother to wake up to see the game. Hawks are going to cut it really close.

And it was shutout #4 of the season. Sharp can't come back soon enough.

Keith is just downright frustrating to watch. If you hadn't watched him play the last few seasons, you'd laugh if someone told you he was the Norris winner last season.... He's been that bad. Just poor, poor decisions.

I agree.. he must lead the team in shots that are blocked. And he must be neck and neck for most shots that miss the net... Him and Campbell would be tops in that department.

Figured it was a loss when I seen it was Peel.. Goalie can play it in the restricted zone.. guy gets hauled down on the play right before Johnson's slash..but they call the slash.... Numb Nutz Downie can spear a player right infront of him and no call.... How about that quick whistle...and then they refused to blow it when the puck was under crawford...

Tampa played like Philly did when they came here...absolutely no forecheck... and the hawks just played right into their hands.

kane did have a strong game i agree rk.

toews does look tired he also looks frustrated because guys are hanging off him the last couple games. ohlund tonight was all over him including laying ontop of him for 20 seconds while the play continued in tampas zone. why that doesn't get called interference or holding is beyond me. but yah he looks tired. guys are shadowing him and double uping on him because he and kaner dont have a proper wing with them to draw guys off them both and open the ice.

sharp is def missed.

i thought hossa had decent shifts at times but yah disappeared here and there. no help from his linemates either. Frolik was ok but again no finish with that guy.

kruger looked better but far from ready still. is it in the hawks plans to keep him in the lineup? i guess they have no other options. i am really not seeing anything from kruger yet. he has some vision but he is far from ready for this league.

as for keith. i actually though on the defensive end he had a strong game..but everyone did. Seabs was def our best d man tonight though. he made his presents known. downey was owned and i laughed my ass off. rk you are right he should have been called as should have Smith when he played the puck illegaly.

keiths shot selection has been horrible this year. it really has been bizzar as it never corrected itself all year. think part of the reason is that it has been expected by the opposition. keiths offensive game has become highly predictable.

speaking of offense from defense. as much as i love campbell he hasn't been pinching into the offensive zone as much as i like to see.

campoli continues to be the best addition to the hawks this year. i will be really pissed off if the hawks dont find a way to secure this guy for another few years.

oh and another big difference in keiths offensive game...he isn't moving the puck before he shoots anymore. he is just taking the one timer over and over again or simply stoping the puc on his stick then shooting without moving. keith shoots best when he draws the puck to his right then shoots. coaching staff should be seeing this

I just don't get it...they lose then we find excuses on why they lost. Towes was tired? They played when friday. this wasn't a back to back. they have had three days off and still lost games.

Next one Sharp and bolland out yes doesn't help but, you mention 8 other highly paid guys and not one can muster a goal against a back up that hasn't seen action since last year. Who you kidding.

Then comes the zebra's oh this guy Peels when he's in we never win. LOLOLOL.

then its why this person didn't get a penalty when this person did or why this person did and that guy didn't.

JESUS H Christ! Look nothing kills me more then the Hawks losing, but to sit here for the past 6 months and hear people yap of how we got screwed on the games we lose is a bunch of horse crap. Every now and then is one thing but seems like this has been an ongoing thing. They lost deal with it and move on. Don't be so dam biast. RK you had this team in the playoffs and you bet on it...now seems like your making it ok if they don't? your satisfied with what ever they do this year? You were the first that would jump on someone that thought they had no chance, but know it seems like you are ok with it if they don't make it. Come on I think your better then that.

I'm not just saying this to RK but anyone in here that keeps finding excuses, tired, reffing ect., Man I love ya guys but its sounding like a broken record, and you guys are sounding like Vancouver fans. OOh God forgive me on that one.

We are sounding like Vancouver fans? You are sounding like someone that jumped on the bandwagon last year and is still learning about the game.

Reading fucking 101. Not in there anywhere did I say they wouldn't make the playoffs. I still believe they'll make the playoffs. They fucking lose for reasons! They aren't fucking excuses, they are CIRCUMSTANCES in why they lost. You fucking LOSE for a reason.

I'd really like to see a stat of games played by the Hawks that are officiating by Tim Peel. Fact, not excuse. We lost over half the team left, and are now missing two more of those from the Stanley Cup Team, Fact, not fucking excuse. Toews looked fucking tired, Fact not fucking excuse. Hossa was not apparent in the game, Fact, not fucking excuse.

If you don't like reading a recap of the game then fucking don't but please don't sit on your high horse of knowledge and preach to anyone. It was clear you just started learning the game a year or so ago.

I'm a Campbell fan but tell me what his 7.5 mil contract gives us that Campoli's 1.5 doesn't. I don't see a difference in play at all.

They have got to do everything possible to moving that contract come summer.

...Toews looked fucking tired, Fact not fucking excuse...

I mentioned in the last GDT thread that Toews didn't look like himself. It's very apparent he's not 100% for whatever reason...maybe he's just tired of carrying this team...

NHL on the Fly showed he was crushed on the boards at the end of the Jackets game, where it was clear interference not called, and he was slow getting back to the bench.

A lot of them are playing not at 100% right now, which is the fact for many teams at this time of the year. The 82 game season as we all know is quite grinding.

I thought the Defense probably had one of it's best games of the year against an extremely potent offence. 13 shots on goal is excellent.

Unfortunately the offense is on vacation.
