Never seen Morin turn the puck over like Versteeg. I don't think he's anymore of a liability, in fact, he had 0 giveaways this season and 9 takeaways in 24 games. So you suck. (That stat is Special person, I know, but still, point stands)

Who cares though, TCD is right.

Im right because all this shit does is sweep how crappy Saad has been in the playoffs under the carpet.

nobody wants to approach calling out the 21 year old but me because as far as i am concerned age don't mean shit when you have 1 goal in 31 playoff games.

Eh, they still won. So I can care less.

But I still like Morin. I also like Teravainen, Dahlbeck, and a few more young guys, doesn't mean they have to play right now. I felt the same about Smith the last couple years and it seems like it worked out for him just fine.

I agree on Saad. Him and Versteeg looked bad this series. Hossa and Sharp weren't showing up on the scoresheet enough, but they looked OK to me as far as making things happen. They just couldn't buy a point. Kinda surprised Hammer was a -5, I didn't think he looked that bad.

Either way, I still think Saad can be a top six forward. He's still young, so it would be nice to at least take a page out of Hossa's book at some point while he's in Chicago and find a way to contribute even if the game isn't going his way.

Saad does so many things that you can't see with the human eye

Q is holding him back from scoring as well.

I give them their dues when they play well just as I rip them when they don't. And I rip pretty much everyone. You, however, are loyally devoted to certain players and coaches and they can do absolutely no wrong in your eyes.

Hate for Handzus and Oduya? :icon-lol: No, I just realize what they are, and what they aren't. As with most players, I don't have an issue with them, but how they are being used. Q realizes it too, it just takes him forever because he's a stubborn egomaniac who has a really hard time admitting he may have been wrong.

You can't possibly tell me with a straight face that Handzus is the best option for 2nd line center, can you?

He won't have to, he'll just choose not to acknowledge that.

Q makes some brainfart decisions, and that is one of them for sure, but 2 cups so far... he can grab his balls for all I care.

Well if you want to give someone more ice time to have to take time away from someone. Minutes don't fall out of the sky

And yes, bench Bollig, who has played to his strengths/role when you say dress people that 'deserve' it.

I guess you're right dream, Bollig doesn't deserve it...And Nordstrom apparently not either

So variable, when you played and were hit hard by a big winger on a forecheck, it didn't hurt/wear you down?

The Hawks don't depend on wearing down their opponent with hits, they wear them down by constantly having the puck.

Shaw has played center most of the season. Pretty sure he only moved to RW in the last couple games, when Handzus was finally demoted to the 4th line in favor of Smith.

The reality of the situation is that Bollig and Handzus are both liabilities even strength, which is why both have had their ES time cut to almost nothing. Who that last forward is really doesn't matter when the coaching staff only trusts the 4th line enough to give them 2-4 minutes at ES.

So I guess you roll the top three lines and see how far it gets you.

The thing about that for me is that if you have the personnel to have 4 good lines (and they do if they made a few changes) that you could trust, why not do it? Why not be able to roll 4 lines at some points during a game? I just don't see why it's not a no-brainer decision to do that. I'd say there's just as much value in that, and letting the top lines get a breather once in a while, as there is upping the minutes on guys who have played an awful lot of hockey the last year and a half.

Untrue

hawks play a very physical game in the playoffs and always have. They just aren't loaded with heavy runners..doesn't mean they don't play physical or forecheck as hard as other teams. They do both things pretty well both physical and possession.

you are just too busy watching guys like Saad who don't play physical while the rest of the team actually does. Bickell, Smith, Shaw, Keith, Seabs, Hammer, Roszy, Toews., Bollig all play a physical brand of hockey and do it well enough.

Right...Handzus shouldn't be dressed and oduya is Campoli

You're devoted all right. After a loss, devoted to calling those 3 out regardless

Handzus between Hossa and Sharp to start a series isn't bad when you're on the road and want to dictate lines. And was a coach when things don't work, he adjusts. And game 1 and 2...they were put in position to win both games

Q has proven for 6 years here to know his team pretty well and continues to win. I'd think he deserves the benefit of the doubt before Brandon Pirri (who has never won anything...or even sniffed the playoffs professionally) or Jeremy Morin where I'm sure if he was a better 2 way player he'd been trusted by now

Several other players have earned it. Maybe its some of these poor, poor players that don't get a fair shake - need to earn it in the Cup winning coaches eyes or better yet the team...than just the "he's been in the organization for x amount of years...hand him a roster spot"

Well yeah TCD if you go by the last series, I'd agree. But if you want to tell me the Hawks game doesn't rely on them dominating puck possession versus dishing out hits, I'm not sure what you've been watching the past 6 years.

Handzus wasn't demoted

He killed 10 min in penalties the first 35 minutes of the game. The game dictated to rotate players/ice time to get more fresh legs involved.

I don't think anyone wants Handzus scratched, he's a big reason the PK is successful. He still sucks 5-on-5 and isn't an offensive threat.

And I must have missed something the last 6 years with the teams that have won the cup.

Wings

Pens

Hawks

Bruins

Kings

Hawks

none of those teams had an ounce of physical presence through the grind of the cups. Esp not that first Hawks team with guys like Ladd, Bolland, Burish, Eager, Fraser, Buff, Steeg (yah he actually threw his body around then) to go along with Hammer, Seabs, Keith, etc etc

not one of those guys played a physical game what so ever.

that Bruins team and that Kings team were all about puck possession. never needed an ounce of physicality to advance and win a cup.

siiiiiigh
