The Devin Hester Discussion Thread

I completely agree with this. He needed a change of scenery. He looks like his old self now. He hasn't looked that good in Chicago in 5-6 years

and theres the turf down in atl... he's flying on it.

So do the falcons even play Matt Ryan in the second half? Lol. I wouldn't.

I'm glad this happened on Lovie Smith....if we have to watch this in another uniform, he deserves to feel that pain with us and have Hester stomped on him once. Hester probably kept his job and got him this one.

Yeah I mentioned that in an earlier post. Imagine if we had turf in Chicago for his whole career. His stats would be even more ridiculous.

I think the bears made the right decision not paying him 3mil. But dawn I miss how exciting he made every return. Although not so much the last couple of years.

Not Rice, just Devin Hester, who happens to be the best return man of all time.

Not without blocking. Not when you need players at nearly every position on defense. Not when he's asking for $3 mil to be a return man.

Ask Cutler to take 3 mil less, he won't miss it

Hester would make our HORRIBLE return unit into at least an average one. Yeah our blocking sucks, but so does our return man.

Also...for the Bears teams could simply avoid him and sacrifice field position. They might not be so eager to do that against Matt Ryan and Julio Jones.

Pain? I bet Lovie is as excited for him as anyone else.

Boy, hyperbole much? Jesus Christ. The guy has 20 yards rushing and a return TD tonight and everyone acts like we let Jerry Rice go.

This is ridiculous. Whenever someone doesn't like a player they say "why is everyone acting like they're (insert hall of fame player or current elite player)" for their argument.

Stop with the exaggerations. He's having a good game and people are happy for him and so am I. Look through this thread and tell me how many people are talking about him being a returner on the Bears and how many people are talking about him as a wide out on the Bears, or just a wide out in general?

By the way, you forgot to add rushing TD after "20 yards rushing."

You needed a kick and punt returner too, and we still do. The minimum salaries of the 3 or 4 guys we signed to replace him add up anyway. Weems, Spurlock, Williams, Holmes, did I miss anybody? $3m is chump change for Hester, Cutler got $120m.

He will be joining Rice in the HOF.
