Boy, hyperbole much? Jesus Christ. The guy has 20 yards rushing and a return TD tonight and everyone acts like we let Jerry Rice go.

Hester is one of my all time favorite players ever for the experience of watching him return kicks. Nothing you say and no HoF you compare him to can change those experiences.

Not without blocking. Not when you need players at nearly every position on defense. Not when he's asking for $3 mil to be a return man.

This is true tho. Hester probably wouldn't have done very much with this unit in front of him. I guess the bigger thing to do is to be happy for him, than he got to go somewhere where they have their shit together and he could get a few more.

Although you do seem to be working very hard to rationalize Hester leaving. Its ok to be sad he's gone bro.

It might by rosy thinking, but it would be sweet to see Devin approach 30 return touchdowns. If he could put some distance between himself and number 2 it begins to make it hard to not put him in. 2-3 more good years, 3 this year and 3 next year and you could start to think about it. 30.

This discussion just clued me into the fact that he is really close to 23. And how fucking crazy would that be, if he rests on 23 at the end?

That's why I found his comment funny, acting like Hester was just a guy. Hester will be in the HoF too, right there next to Rice.

How can you be an offensive Guru and not see the potential for "THAT GUY" we are watching tonight in your system. You don't have a place for that?

Or was it Hesters decision to just be a kick returner and was he just too butt hurt about Lovie to give us full whatever you want coach effort anymore or concerned purely with his pursuit of return record?

Whatever went down, heads should be rolling tonight in Halas, the verdict is out. Hester still has it. So why was the flower wilting here?

1 game and all the sudden. Hester is the best thing since sliced bread on offense?

You might as well give him the special team player of the week already.

Let it be remembered also that he had at least 5 returns called back. Anybody know the number on that?

Maybe even Thursday Night player of the game AND not only special team player of the week but PLAYER OF THE WEEK. One rushing touchdown and 20 rushing yards, one punt return touchdown, one forced fumble, at least one reception. Maybe those stats aren't as good as I think they are but I don't think it's very common for a play to have a forced fumble, a rushing touchdown and a return touchdown in the same game.

He already blew Deion away in ST TDs. Nobody is even close to Hester.

Hester was always one of my favorites, he is responsible for numerous wins for the Bears. It's a shame it was so hard defending him on this message board last year, yet he is loved so dearly on Atlanta (note: not by all, but plenty).

Sometimes people got to see Perry to appreciate who they had

As much as I agreed with Hester moving on, I'm pleased to see him get the record, and really glad to see him happy and settled on his new team.

Nice to see Hester smiling. I think the change of scenery really suits him well. Good for him.
