Rookie of the Year:

17 TDs, 6 INTS, 3,045 yards

One 300 yd game

BUSSSTTTTT:

17 TDs, 5 INTs, 2,937 yards

Three 300 yd games

The difference is Bears fans watching a Bears QB and probably alcoholism.
And a lot of denial of how shitty this organization is.

Against who? Game 1 against Minnesota and vs Detroit? They are both at the bottom of the league defending the pass. The 49ers and this past game were garbage time by half time
Did you not watch the games. What Bears Qb has done that in your life time?

True, but only if he stops playing Home Run ball.

When he had more confidence in the line earlier in the year, he wasn't playing Home Run ball.

So much of this is coaching, and the Bears just don't have it on any level.

He will improve with better coaches.

Packers for one and if that’s true about Minnesota and Detroit why is the opposing QBs they face have horrible stats?

What did Jordan Love do against the Lions in the first half ? 6 completions? How about the first time they faced the Lions in Lameau he threw a pick six and looked mediocre.

This isn’t Mitch bum slaying - he seems to play well against good defenses.

Go watch the end sequence of the Bears Packers that throw to Odunze was sick and then the Packers do an all out blitz and he throws it to Kenan.

It was amazing - Tom Brady started screaming like a fan.
If you go to NFL.com on pass defense you get

Detroit 20th (were ranked mid 20s at the time of the first matchup)
Green Bay 21st
Minnesota 32nd

The 49ers are second. 4 yards in the first half. This is Rex Grossman all over again. Celebrating Caleb “getting better” against crap defenses.

Your anecdotal stuff about “what about that one time with Love” is not persuasive

So you’re bragging about a guy being better than Erik Kramer, Jim Miller and Jim McMahon all in rushing offenses in a league that was far less open? You can be better than those three and not have been worth the number one pick

All 3 of Detroit, Minnesota and GB were top 10 in epa against the pass as recently as 2 weeks ago. Yes they give up a lot of passing yards, mostly because they beat teams badly and teams can't run on them (at least Minnesota and Detroit both have very good run defenses, not sure about gb).

And in those games he made some big plays and racked up a good amount of yards. He was not effective on a play to play basis overall in those games. No one on sport radio got on there and said “man did he just command and control the game against those teams.” He had moments. He had nice 4th quarters against a few teams.

He’s currently 30th in average and 29th in completion percentage Jayden Daniels is 10th and 4th. Nix is 24th and 29th and would have come with a boat load of picks.

Peyton manning was 20th and 19th as a rookie. Not at the bottom of starters in both

Generational. To people who wouldn’t know it if they saw it lol

Would nix of come with Sean Payton because otherwise his season would've looked more like his first couple weeks.

Glad to see you are out on Williams despite having a decent rookie season though.

But I’m not QB obsessive. The cure for the QB problem with the bears was never assets. It’s getting people in the building who know something other people don’t. Then you don’t need top picks and trading two first rounders for a QB.

The packers have gotten Favre, Rodgers and Love for a 33rd pick, 24th pick and 26th pick. Their excellence at QB has been a function of the abilities of people like Ron Wolf, not the willingness to use top assets. If Ron Wolf had been working in our front office, we might have had a 2nd round pick on our bench waiting to take over for Fields. A damn good one.

Bears fans never ask why the mccaskeys won’t hire someone like Ron wolf. They just wish for a savior and then act like because they want to be saved, said player must be a savior.

Of the biggest Williams fans I know personally, I don’t know one who didn’t oversell what Cutler would do. So they were wrong about Suckler but now they really really know something and others dont

Right

People are pretty insane if they think Caleb wouldn't look significantly better with Payton... or that if we had Nix on this Bears team instead of Caleb, he wouldn’t look noticeably worse than he currently does.

How did Caleb Williams do against the New England Patriots?

Holy shit this board is filled with idiots.

And holy shit, you’re not exempt from that. It’s hilarious that some act like the sky is falling because his rookie season is so atrocious yet his numbers are right there with every other prospect.

Absolutely right. Reverse any of the rookie qb to Chicago and I'm pretty sure they look the same or worse.

I am.

You didn't answer me. What did he do against the powerhouse New England Patriots? Thats right, he did jack and shit. Outplayed by a guy who has the worst OL in the entire NFL. No WRs. Rookie coach who stinks. He also didnt have the extra months of reps that Caleb got and the extra months of install the #1 pick had the benefit of.

His numbers are as fake as he is. Cope.

are we celebrating a guy having a 40 yard TD drive followed by getting lucky with the only successful onside kick in the entire NFL?

I guarantee you he is not. You may not care for the coach but he is miles better and has a full staff.
Do you watch the Patriots? Do you follow their beat and interact with their fans? I do. Hes awful. They dont do anything well. They're undisciplined and he throws people under the bus like he's Matt Eberflus' protégé. No one likes him. He was chosen 5 years ago for whatever reason and they already regret it.

I cant believe there are people really out here acting like Drake Maye is playing better than Caleb because of coaching when he's basically playing for the 2022 Bears without Darnell Mooney.

Dude you can't let your Caleb bias cloud your judgement that much.

If you just come out and say Caleb plays a major role i can't argue it.

But you can't say Mayo and staff are worse than Chicago with a straight face. Sorry, can't do it.

Right now if you had said Jets but there's no rookie there.

Mayo alone is better than what we currently have here.
