Didn't Sale miss time last year with arm issues? Or was that the year before?

Last year (2012). They made him the closer for 5 days. Then put him back in the rotation.

Yeah, it was odd. But Coop, and Herm are one of the best in the biz, so I trust them.

If Hahn doesn't do more, good chance the Royals finish ahead of us.

I think we all need to be patient, it's his first offseason, he'll make moves when he sees fit, we may not see something that he does, we don't have all the info as fans

LOL No. Royals will not finish ahead of us.

Secondly, there isn't a lot of money to spend on free-agents, and what movable chips do we have that we actually want to move?

Sale, Viciedo, Reed, Santiago, Jones, etc. Yeah, we can move those, but why?

Konerko, Ramirez, and Dunn's contracts are too big. And no one will take on Rios unless he has a good 2013 and proved (somewhat) that his off years were flukes.

Our only real moveable, realistic trade chips are De Aza, and Floyd. And we can't move Floyd until we know how Danks is.

Not a whole lot the Sox can do right now.

I think the Royals could. I like their young team and I think they will surprise this year. It depends on the season plays out. Also, KW could be still making the calls. You never know, so I wouldn't blame it all on Hahn.

I feel like you underestimate the Royals because of their history of suck, but they are forming the nucleus of a winning team, and with any up and coming team they could start putting it together at any time (see 2012 Tigers, 2008 Rays, 2012 A's). The fact is the sport we are playing is baseball, where anything can happen, so you've to accept the possibility that this team might not be a contender in 2012 because cosmetically it we look like a weak team, but then again we can all hope that this team overachieves again in 2013 and contends for a division crown.

I think it's both. Just don't balme it all on Hahn, that's all I'm saying. The President of Baseball Operations usually has the last say.

then why haven't people cared who the president of baseball operations for the White Sox was the past 12 years?

Have they had a president of baseball operations during that time frame?

actually, no they haven't, guess I just assumed they would
Williams, 48, still will hold the title of senior vice president, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Williams has held the GM post since October 2000, and he led the club to the World Series championship in 2005, the White Sox's first crown since 1918.

The writing change has been in the works for some time. The White Sox have had no head of baseball operations in their organization. Williams has said numerous times that he would love to be able to have some of the baseball decisions but not have to deal with the media or the grind that the GM job entails.
