Sorry to disappoint RK but no and I could care less about this rating system you keep referring to. If you want go ahead and set my rating to -100,000. You're a moderator so you can do as you please. Go for it - and then we can hopefully end the conspiracy discussion.

Bullshit.

and I'll let the rest of the board speak for themselves. I think they've been pretty clear on you Fuffle. You can't be that blind.

10 minutes a game, 16min in ....and he's getting all these breakaways, 2 on 1's, open nets....2nd on the team in hits......wow, he gets alot done in a short amount of time. I must get up to get a beer and miss ALOT!

Maybe it's a cliche, but at least the opportunities are there. His hard work is paying off in chances.

Hopefully it's just a matter of time for those chances will lead to finishes.

But it's OK for fans to give up on Skille. That's what forums like this are for.

As long as Q still has faith.

All it takes is some asshole from the first row then it's like Dominos. SIT THE **** DOWN.

You can lean by me but do that upstairs you might be thrown over.

It's ok, I can't afford tickets to either section. i lean at home just fine.

That's the safest place to lean buddy.

I agree PJ.

Let him have his shot. I don't remember BROUWER tearing it up his first full season. This after scoring 40 goals in the AHL.

I'll say it again - if you think I'm playing my rating then go ahead and set it to -100,000 or even -1,000,000. Then you can stop complaining about it. And when Paul finishes his investigation I hope you confer with him when he tells you I never changed any of my own ratings.

For four years now they have tried to groom him to step up and be a top two line player. They've tried him there, they've tried every combination of him every combination of places. He hasn't even been able to be a top player in the AHL consistently. I'm tired of the pay cut argument, He never lived up to what he was making, and is playing exactly as well as he's being paid. 10 minutes a night was never an excepted excuse for other players where were not producing, but somehow it's ok to say he hasn't been given a fair shake because he's only playing 10 a night. Well you know what, it's all he deserves. Woo hoo. he's an energy guy that is hitting players. Great, but he was supposed to be the depth answer that the hawks needed this year, the guy who was supposed to step up and fill the gaps from all the departed players. He was supposed to get his first real shot and be a legitimate NHLer. And he hasn't. He's sunk back to the 4th line, and not for a lack of trying because he seems to be working hard, but it's just not all there. I loved Skille when he first came up. I was hoping he would be something big because he wore #11. But to me it's like he resented this team for not bringing him up to play more when they were bad, and now that they are good, he getting his shot and just isn't taking advantage. The best thing for him is a fresh start, trade him and let him go somewhere where he can start over fresh and check the ego's at the door. I think toting him around last year with the cup like he won something was a horrible thing for him. What do I have to base all this on, nothing, but that's why it's a message board and I'm allowed to post my opinions.

They tried to groom him to be a top two line player? Over...Toews, Kane, Sharp, Bolland, Hossa/Havlat..had Versteeg, Byfuglien, Ladd....so not sure where the "grooming and failing" on his part was - as much as all those guys were signed. But I guess Skille couldve been a 30goal scorer as a 21 year old or the complete player of Hossa at that age - and they wouldnt have needed to sign him, so shame on him.

He's been a top player in Rockford the 3 years he's been there. Been one of their best goal scorers while being one of the youngest all 3 years. Makarov is 22, so is he a failure as well - being in Rockford, didnt crack the top 6 this year. Who cares he signed for 500K to come over. He's not lighting up the AHL this year, time to move on from him too!

I still don't know where he "resented" the team. I dont know what "every combination" means...I havent seen him (or anyone young) play regularly in the previous 3 years because the team was pretty much set. I dont know how the team couldve called him up last year, making 1mil - but maybe you know a loop in the cap no one else did.

As far as they pay cut, you're right...it's not that big of a deal. But, there are players of less character (Sweatt....Wheeler) that leave thinking there are better shots elsewhere, where Jack stayed to compete here. He couldve "resented" as you said and took the same money elsewhere for the same 4th line shot, but there's never been anything difficult about him, other than he's not scoring goals at the pace some people seem to expect him to.

I guess that's just it. Skille is NOT the reason why we're in the doldrums. If he were getting top line minutes, then it would be a bigger issue.

What I don't want to see is for him to be scratched after the effort he puts out for a waste-of-space like John Scott.

I believe that happened once already this season, but I could be misremembering it.

I rarely lean, but have done it in both sections without any safety concerns (though in the UD it was because other were leaning in front of me

)

It takes time to adjust from the AHL to the NHL. I still don't understand when teams/fans don't get this, it's not like it's their first time experiencing it, but every time a rookie struggles they suddenly start lambasting him. Rumour has it Grachev is on the outs in NY, which would surprise the hell out of me, as he's going to be a great 2nd liner in the future if given time, maybe even 1st liner, depending on the team.

I lean, but its only because I have 1 shoe on.

And you hit the nail on the head.

If he was playing 15-17min a nite, top 6 minutes...and had no goals..I'd be as pissed as anyone.

But playing last of the minutes out of the forwards, 4th line, 500K....I dont see him as being any issue of his play, hustle, or production.

Because they want results ASAP. Skille has done nothing but show effort every time he's on the ice. I don't remember Eager, Frazer or Burrish ever lighting up the scoreboard in any furry.

Fuffle I can't change it nor do I care. I just found it amusing is all

Thank you - all I ask for is fairness. Since you've completed your investigation and found me to be innocent of the charges hopefully this can stop coming up. I believe RK owes me an apology though.

Yeah, but that's why I don't understand it, if you want results, then give it time, even stamkos struggled his first year in the league, you can't expect every player to just jump in and make an immediate impact.

And Skille playing on the 4th should not be relied on for putting up the points, nor is he by the team/management. He's there to get acclimated, give 110% and just make sure the other team doesn't score during his shift, and so far he's been doing that pretty damn well. There is no situation where a 4th liner can be blamed for a loss, unless he specifically contributed to it, like if all goals in a game are scored while he was on the ice, he shot the winning goal into his own net, or handed over the winning goal to the opposition in the slot/for a breakaway.

One thing to keep in mind Canucklehead is that this team is not rebuilding, we are defending a championship. I would feel more patient and understanding if this was a rebuilding season and would feel better letting Skille grow into the role a bit. But we're trying to repeat and defend a championship and he's just not delivering results. Not sure how long Q can or will be patient with him. Probably not a lot of other choices though right now cause of our cap space situation. Also, not blaming Skille for everything, just saying he's part of the problem.
