Can we be contenders and sellers? Any position deep enough to trade? RB perhaps? What we need is more draft talent and less expensive contracts. Grab some capital when people are desperate

Won't he just fly to Seattle?

I was just thinking things like, you are packed for just over a week in London and now suddenly you have to fly to Seattle when you live in Jacksonville.

Just the sudden uprooting of your life and home that starts with you not even at home but in a foreign country. It's nothing insurmountable, but I've done enough travel and moving around to appreciate how much that would suck.

And on top of all of that, you need to acclimate to a new team, new scheme, etc

Well, the way its looking we're gonna get a 4th for fields.

Also, if the bears keep winning cunningham prob lands a GM gig this offseason, which means the bears get a 3rd this year and a 3rd next year.

They would then have

A first rounder,
2 2nds
2 3rds
2 4ths
1 5th
2 6ths

IDK if they need more draft picks than that lol. Also we're one injury to swift/roschon from needing herbert again. Then again waldron would probably use that bum travis homer instead.

Shoulda gotten rid of velus when they had the chance tho.

Think we are short a 4th because of booker, unless I am missing another one.

I wouldn't mind picking up a lineman or another playmaker on D, but thinking Poles sits this one out. Who knows maybe he will surprise.

And yes Poles f'd up by not trading vjj

They’re not winning the SB this year. I would rather keep the picks. Just my personal preference
I think it depends on who they could target. If they could get a legit proven player who will help the team in the future I’d take that in a heartbeat. If they trade for a Bates type of player, then strong pass. With that said, I think them trading for that legit player is slim to none.

I would hope our GM has faith that he can identify talent in the draft and develop for the upcoming years where the bears should be competing.

If the bears can get a stud pass rusher in round 1 next year and maybe 2 starters in round 2 they should compete next year. Why try to speed up the process?

Are the Bears really ready to compete with the likes of the NFC north or the best teams in the NFC/NFL? I certainly don't think so.
Dont think they have to be ready to compete this very second to make a trade. The key would be to trade for a player you can sign long term. Kinda like Sweat.

@SugarWalls I could care less about receiving a dislike for my most recent response to your post, but more curious for the reason behind it. Can we not have a civilized discussion as fans with different opinions? It just goes straight to dislikes if you don’t agree?

Edit: Apparently not. CCS’s finest!

If I’m Poles and making a trade, I have to know it’s going towards a player with proven success against top talent and would be better off for the team over a draft pick next year. That would be the only reason to make a splash by trade deadline. I personally don’t see this happening though.

This is a young team improving each week but it is by no means win now mode.

Hopefully pickens comes back from his groin injury and they can start rotating him in to DL, Taylor has been better than expected and at this point booker is still developing with some reps.

They have a guy in bill murray that can fill in to get reps if there are injuries, and bates is coming back soon? Also I wouldn't mind seeing amegadjie get some reps at tackle if braxton or wright have to miss time.

I don't see why they would make any trades right now.
Poles hasn't been in win.now mode for 2 years.....hasn't stopped him from trading 2nd round picks each year

Don't think I'd do it, but won't be surprised if/when he trades another one for something in the next month (likely oline)

with yourself does not count, but a sticky problem with handshake agreements
Is that why you’re always begging me to shake my hand?!

You’re very weird, indeed

It really isn't. And I'm sure you would build the new stadium on top of the actual water…
NFL’s first floating stadium!

If casinos can do it, why can’t footballers?!

The thing bout that is I thought they had 21m or some shit, but now it looks like they have just over 6m?

That doesnt sound like enough to make a trade for any guard/tackle who isnt on a rookie deal, and if so no clue why a team would move on from them then even if the team is bad. You need OL and teams usually dont trade young OL.

Those picks were traded for guys he felt would be here long term. (One hit one huge miss)

I think that would be the only type of trade that would happen. If the goal is OL wait for the draft. Who’s the last real good OL that got traded midseason anyways?
