Rice we do know that; however, the manager is on their mind and want to get a new manager before making moves. That's my guess and does make sense.
@SI_JonHeyman
Jon Heyman Sveum will be cubs manager, though it still isn't finalized yet.
@GordonEdes
Gordon Edes Theo Epstein and Jed Hoyer just arrived at Dale Sveum's hotel.

The team can be built regardless of who is manager. The manager is just there to write lineup cards and not **** too much shit up.
im not big into this saber metric shit but yesterday on Club Confidential on MLB NETWORK they broke down WAR of manager across the league. The 2 highest WAR was LAA mangaer at 4.6 and Guillen at 4.2. If they were players at that WAR they would be making around 10 mil. So dont say managers dont mean shit cause they do. They can be difference being team in playoffs or out of playoffs. Why do you think picking managers takes while. Its more then just filling out the lineup card.

Deal done, final details being worked out. Should be finalized later today and press conference could be tomorrow.
Yes true. The manager usually is not involved in any moves during the off-season. But Theo and Jed are worrying about naming a new manager over makeing moves right now. However, that looks to be over now and moves will be the #1 priority.
MILWAUKEE -- Whoever was the Cubs' closer did his job. The team has called a news conference for Friday to name Dale Sveum the next manager.
Sveum, who turns 48 on Nov. 23, reportedly received a three-year deal with an option for a fourth year.
Sveum took over the Brewers as interim manager in September 2008 after Ned Yost was dismissed. The Brewers went 7-5, and rallied to clinch the NL Wild Card spot, but lost in four games to the eventual World Series champion Phillies in the NL Division Series.MORE:
People weren't excited about Francona in Boston.Does Dale excite anyone? I mean he could be a great hire...
