Nah, Kustok was the one who left for Brookyln. Think she covers the Nets for a TV network out there. She was also the one who got hit on by the creepiest Shoot the Puck contestant of all-time.

Definitely a strange moment. Maybe that is the reason she left, to get away from that guy.

Actually her father was convicted of killing her mother and tried playing it off as an attempted burglary gone wrong. She left Comcast shortly after that happened, IMO she wanted to get away from here because of that.

Is that a slam dunk statement though? Or is it more a open shot from within the slot statement?

Dreger is usually a good source but there's no way in hell the Hawks will allow Kane to show up at training camp on Friday.

Why? Because 90% of this thread assumed a probability of his guilt?

His job begins on Friday. He'll be there, and have the full support of his teammates and staff who understand the difficulties of fame.

Well there's absolutely some sort of probability of his guilt because there's an open investigation into something he may or may not have done.

You do not have a player show up to training camp when an open investigation involving him is ongoing, especially when it's a rape investigation. You just don't fucking do it. No way in hell. Call it a leave of absence, call it whatever the hell you want. There's absolutely no reason for him to be there right now. It's not going to do any good for anyone. And it'd be horrific from a PR perspective, which is about the only thing the Hawks can control right now.

Not that it's important here, but it's not like this team is suddenly going to slip into the NHL basement if they have to do without Kane at the start of the season. They'll be fine.

Yes you do-
Yes way-
No...they won't-
Yes there is...it's training camp.

He may not be there on day 1 (until they see how bad the circus is), but day 2+, yes he will.

This mini bio from the author of Wino's article link made me chortle:

You don't think McD is going to do everything he can to keep this PR nightmare under his control as much as he can?

Absolutely he will, but that won't include banning your star player (who hasn't been charged with anything...at this moment) from preparing for the season with his new teammates.

If he had been charged, my take might be different.

But what if the Hawks let him come to training camp and then Kane is later charged and convicted. Think of how awful that would look for the Hawks. You think the front office is going to take that risk?

[Edit] The only way I see the Hawks allowing Kane to come to training camp is if they have some damn good knowledge that leads them to believe he will be cleared of those charges.

The organIzation may not know the complete story, but they know enough...certainly more than you or I (or the media). If in the ensuing weeks/months charges are filed, then I'm sure he would be given a (mandatory) leave of absence/suspension...pending resolution. Until that happens, they cannot possibly prevent him from participating.
