Was a poor move by the Hawks to put him out there. For one he isn't allowed to say anything at the moment and what he did say made him look like an absolute idiot.

Waste of time that made him look worse in the public eye. So dumb im embarrassed by and for the org.

Yep. Just release a statement. If you really want him out in the public, you can even have him read it to the media. But he can't answer any questions, so why put him in front of the media and say "hockey question only" when you (should) know that no one in the media is going to ask Kane about hockey right now? Awful decision by the Hawks organization.

I'm sure they're real proud of you. Maybe they believe him that he's innocent?

Wasn't his silence supposed to be damning a few weeks ago? Now he talks and the pearl clutchers are at it again.

Pound sand.

Ever think that they did that purposely....Kane looked extremely uncomfortable in front of the cameras. A complete departure to how he usually is. I think they did the same thing to Crawford when he broke his ankle while under the influence. Might just be their way of saying...you **** up, you face the music. Doesn't appear they plan on covering for him which is a good thing. Time to grow up kid. If he's anything and I mean anything but completely not guilty....they will find a way to move him.

"Regardless of the adjudication of this matter, are you gonna stop drinking"?

Nice question deeeek.

In the immortal words of Lt. Col. Henry Blake..."What a horse's petute".

That said, once PK made his "statement", he should've been escorted out of the state. Major idiocy by McFucknuckle to let him swing in the breeze and face the barbs of the AV club alumni association.

What were his other "transgressions"? Being at a party in the off-season in Wisconsin? The cab incident was way over blown. The limo incident? Well a "veteran" married person in Maddon was in that limo too.

All of these things are done by players every single day.

No, they're not. Kane assaulted a cab driver and walked off without paying his fare. That is a crime.

In Wisconsin, he was drunk and disorderly and nearly arrested by the police on the scene. That was - almost - another crime.

He appears to have a problem with drinking and with authority. That perception is surely going to color the opinions of observers, whether or not we all believe in "guilty until proven innocent."

On another subject, amidst the reports that attorneys for Kane and the accuser are negotiating a settlement that would end the legal proceedings, I would like to see the laws changed in these instances. How much money have police and law enforcement spent on this matter at the behest of the accuser? If she suddenly cashes out, I feel the state of New York should be entitled to recover the money they've spent on this wild goose chase. A law like that would stop all the bogus claims from women out there looking for money - which this one may or may not be - and would stop the farce of these cases flaring up and then ending with the obligatory payoff. If the guy's guilty and you want to bring charges, see it through. Don't waste taxpayers money.

I know it's a pipe dream and would never happen, but these athlete-groupie cases are almost becoming farcial - you know from the start what's going to happen: a settlement.

You do realize that we are arguing in support of the same issue right? I really don't understand how you could have missed my point in that post but okay let me spell it out to you.

General public wants to hear kane speak
A lot of the general public and media probably wanted him to say something incriminating or stupid because people get off on that shit
Kane wasnt allowed to answer any questions that came his way regarding said rape investigation and accusation (rightfully so)
What do you think the media was going to ask and what do you think fans and the general public wanted to know? How his slap shot is going?
Kane says something dumb because he isnt a public speaker and probably under a lot of stress.
Media and general public win and get what they want..a bad soundbite
Hawks put kane right in an uncomfortable situation he wasnt ready for and is probably to stressed to handle and it showed
Dumb

As for pounding sand? Okay? Dont miiiind if i do. I have pounded far worst things.

People said that he should be screaming from the mountaintops that he didn't do it. Silence was a tacit admission of guilt.

Now he's a dunce for doing just that.

Although that wasn't exactly a scream from a mountaintop.

Look, camp starts tomorrow, they had to get out in front of this.

"There, we made our statement and we're not saying anything else. Got it?"

Wrong. He wasn't walking off without paying the fare and he wasn't charged with assault. Do some research on what actually happened

And now....he's in trouble for "almost" another crime?

So...Toews was busted for underage drinking. And "should have" been charged when he wrecked his car and fled the scene a few seasons ago....so should they move him too?

I think people are reacting because after weeks of rumors and speculation, it appears McDonough and Wirtz are behind Kane, and that flies in the face of everything they were conditioned to believe because of said rumors and speculation.

To date, the only thing we've heard from the DA and Hamburg police is "Patrick Kane is under investigation for an incident that occurred at his house over the weekend".

The rest is unnammed sources partial to one side or another, leaking information to friendly reporters.
