Buffalo news, when this whole thing started they were calling it a rape case/investigation. The last couple of weeks they've been calling it a sexual assault.

Thanks. Really haven't been paying much attention to any news outlets during this investigation. Everyone and their dogs have been looking to garner attention to themselves by printing something meaningless everyday or making the entire situation about themselves. Also it seems like some people have been giving free advertisement to the news sources and journalists whom they deemed unworthy of any attention.

This whole thing has been a shit show of a social experiment and everyone failed.

How silly does the trade Kane brigade look now? Glad he's been exonerated, more or less just in time for camp and hockey season to start. I'm sure a handful of folks will be disappointed and bitter and will no doubt continue to concoct ever more outlandish scenarios to grasp at straws and hold out.

Blackhawks also come out looking great and proactive rather than reactive. Can you imagine how dumb they'd look if they had suspended him or not allowed him to come to camp and then a few days later it comes out oh about that whole DNA evidence thing... whoops? I guess you can come to camp now... or something. Instead they did their due diligence and made the moral decision, which lucky for them also happened to be the smart business and image decision given what we know now.

Yah agree and kind of disagree at the same time. I wouldn't have liked the team to have used the term "suspended" from camp i think that would have been a bad case and suggested wrong doing by Kane thus feeding the blood thirsty folks. But had they creatively used a term like "a leave" from camp I think that would be less impactful and less harmful? I don't know i guess it all depends on how people digest language and symatics?

Thats an interesting case as i dont think "suspended" would have been the term the club used anyways had Kane not attended camp right now. But yah its good in hindsight that they did and im sure the org has been speaking with kane directly and honestly and vice versa through this entire shit show.

I doubt they talked to Kane directly at all. If they did they could be called in a court case to testify about what he told them which is the last thing they'd want. I'm sure they sent their bloodhounds to sniff around everywhere and everything else though which seems to have led to the same conclusion.

Technically, he's not exonerated. It just means no DNA. That means barring him using a Coney Island Whitefish or some inanimate object it won't be Rape in the 1st. Could still be a lesser sexual assault charge, or it could mean nothing criminal happened. Doesn't mean Kane's in the clear, but the chances that it's full-blown rape went down.

It just came out that Kanes DNA was found on the accusers shoulders and in her fingernails.
