You're being way to generous.
1st off, you're going to have the contingent that says just because charges weren't filed, doesn't mean he's innocent. In other words, you'll have the "Never had good sex in their lives" contingent who will claim that the DNA on the shoulders and under her fingernails are proof-positive that a heinous crime occurred (when in actuality it proved nothing except Kane was in contact with her irrespective of consent).
2nd, you're going to have the contingent that you so eloquently mentioned, which will drive that into the ground for years to come, simply because they do not like Kane.
Even if the thread's closed, more will open up.
Still, one key item in all of this is that nothing has been said (nor will I think it be said) about whether or not anything foreign was found on the accuser's genitals. No word about spemicide. No word about traces of any foreign object that would link to forcible penetration. It there was word that those were *not* found then it would look damned good for Kane. Even though the chance he can get charged with Rape in the 1st has gone down, it's still possible he can be charged if the rape kit found evidence of either of the aforementioned.
I'm still reserving judgement.

I don't think anyone in here wanted to see Kane found guilty. If they did, that basically means they are okay with an innocent woman being sexually assaulted just for their distain towards Kane.
Most of us who posted in this thread were waiting for the facts to come out. Many of us also didn't like how so many people just assumed the girl was a gold digger without any credible evidence to the contrary. Sexual assault is an issue is this society. It's not being the "PC Police" to say that.
In hindsight, neither Kane nor the woman should have themselves be named in this until charges are brought up, thus it keeps it a private matter.
I still don't think the BPD have come out and said charges won't be brought against Kane. So the case it seems is still open.
This has been a unfortunate example of how much power and influence the media has on us and how we perceive events, whether the reports are true or not.

Some of those people are a the same that think the limo ride photos means that Kane is a social deviant who it going to corrupt everyone.
The amazing thing is that with as little proof as there was people formulated "facts" of what happened. Too much "reality TV" watching...
Always better to reserve judgement until there are actual facts and actual proof.
